I am not one to complain, or write negative reviews. I feel the need to share my personal experience with everyone. Then maybe something will be done. We booked through priceline. Claimed to be a 2.5 Star Hotel. It all started on Saturday afternoon. After all night traveling to airports, getting on and off planes with my wife who is pregnant, and our 2 boys ages 4 and 1. We arrive at the Hotel at 3:05 pm. Big sign stating "checkin at 3 pm”. I go up to the counter, was told our room is not ready yet. “It will be a 20-25 minute wait. All of us were tired and just wanted to get in and get cleaned up and maybe a short nap. After 30 minutes pass, I go to the counter again. Lady doesn’t acknowledge me because she’s with someone else. So I wait 5 more minutes, only to be told it’s still not ready. It ended up being almost 4 pm by the time we got our room card. As we head down the hallways, cigarette smoke is very present and strong. Our room smelled strong of some cleaning chemical, probably lysol to mask smells. Main window is so filthy you can barely see out of. At this point I’m thinking we sure paid a lot of money to stay here but oh well… Walls are filthy, whole place is so run down. My wife tries to call the the front desk, phone not working. She asked a maid in the hall for more conditioner and if they had toothbrushes. Was told “There is a drug store across the street” By the next day, found several spots of black mold in the bathroom. All over in the shower and behind the toilet. And it scrapes off easy. Rust in the shower. Rips even holes in Drywall. Found previous guests dirty clothing in the closet, little girls dirty underwear. Me and our 2 boys got super sick on day 3 and had to stay in most of the day. I called at 4:20 pm to ask for service for our room. Was treated so horrible for asking because the maids go home at 4:30. They showed up and were extremely rude as we were leaving. By day 4, very frustrated and angry with our service and quality of our stay, spent all morning on the phone. First with priceline, then told to contact the hotel. Phone with hotel, talking to hotel staff in person. First telling us we can find somewhere else to stay and get refunded for the nights we haven’t used yet. Kind of impossible for maui in January. Then later offering us a room upgrade even though we felt we didn’t want to stay another night here. We ended up moving to the upgraded room that thankfully didn’t have mold but still needed work. Bath tub drain wouldn’t seal, had to use a rag. Leaking faucet. A dirty cleaning rag was left in our sink one day from room service. The beach area below had litter and cigarette butts. I actually picked up some garbage myself because I hate seeing it that way. $5 parking fee per night, a little ridiculous. Priceline did refund us 1 night at the end of our 8 night stay. All in all, I would NOT recommend this place. Staff was non apologetic and rude. Management was apologetic after complaint for our experience. I promise it is not worth staying. Read moreDefinitely not a fan of this hotel, its clearly made to seem way better than it is on its site online. First off most of the rooms look nothing like the images of their pictured rooms very deceptive and misleading including their misleading hidden resort fee which is a clear ripoff cause there is nothing resort about this place. Theres a crumby pool on the 2nd floor nobody uses they dont even do anything regarding pool furniture, plants and lighting to try and spruce it up cause its something they probably rather have less people utilizing for easier maintenance. The real issue I had was the bed linen or bed itself reeked of BO. I had finished business for the work day came back showered and was going to sleep and was not feeling comfortable and was wondering why then I noticed this rank odor of BO and I'm thinking is this me. I smelled myself and then put my nose to the linens it was gross and disgusting smelling like someone had sweated in the bed all night as if the line underneath was not changed. I immediately went to the front desk and they had nothing else available for the night they said would have to change rooms in the morning. So I was forced to sleep above the covers then when I finally changed rooms the next day in such a hurry in the morning after not getting any proper rest from being so uncomfortable having a long work day feeling exhausted needing to get ready for business i had left behind a specialized wash equipment in the shower and when I asked for it later saying it was left behind they had no notice or record which I was informed that housekeeping is supposed to keep and report which they did not. I was offered a lousy $30 credit back from the ripoff resort fee they charge . This is not a resort. There is nothing resort about this place. The people who are employed here are nice but this place is completely unorganized and a divey slum. When I have time I'm going to locate the main general manager of this place and definitely express how I feel about this so called resort. My main issue at the moment is the lack of time i have available in a day to deal with these issues and this place just loves to waste and be disrespectful of my time. When I finally got back from my 12 hour work day of business they kept me waiting 35 minutes just to get my luggage they had to hold for me cause I had to check out of that dirty room before i headed to work and nothing was available for checking in until later that day they said. That $30 credit is barely gonna cover the uber roundtrip cost to replace what they didnt properly set aside that was left in the room and this is all the result of the hotels poor conditions and standards that has snowballed. So cause of business and time constraints I'm stuck here and dont have time to look for something elsewhere. My advice go stay at the courtyard marriot or rent a condo or something. I'm already sick of this place. They only get 1* cause it cant be rated any lower and the...
Read moreWe stayed for the location, but I wouldn't book here again. FYI, this is a long review, so please skip this one if youre in a hurry.
The staff don't answer phone calls. My husband and myself were both hung up on when we were trying to verify our reservation. We booked two rooms so we wanted them to be next to each other.
My son found a handful of cockroches. They weren't huge, but still... With the humidity, we can't expect to not find any at all. However, I'm not sure what to expect since we don't have cochroaches where we live. There was a foul smell in the hall on the first floor... not sure what it was. The air conditioning unit wouldn't work in one of the rooms but they did reassign us another room. Thank you for that. There was also another guy at the same time reporting his air conditioner didn't work either, so we know ours wasn't the only one.
Giving bad reviews STINK, and sometimes when we've had a bad experience we won't leave a review at all, but I think I would have liked to have seen an honest and raw review on this one before I booked it.
They don't honor cancelations even when your within your cancelation period, but it would be hard to get one anyway because they don't answer the phones, or your on hold for 20 minutes, and still may get hung up on. I hope this review will change how they train the front staff. I booked this hotel for the first and last night of our trip, and of course I didn't want to stay here a second time after being there the first night. I called them four days before we were scheduled to stay with them again. They wouldn't answer their phone and when I stated the reason for my call, I was hung up on. I had to call again the next day and I asked my husband to reach out to them. Same experience every time. I was polite to them everytime when I did finally get a chance to talk someone, but the same thing kept happening...they would hang up or put us on hold again and we would still end up being disconnected. Needless to say, we had to stay here the last night or lose our money.
Ending on a plus, the courtyard is really cute and they provide a cute little firelit sitting area at night which...
