Maui Fine Art - Gallery and Picture Framing — Attraction in Maui

5 Stars for art, ZERO for insulting customers. Visited this gallery May 31st. I really liked one with a sign “Ask us about this Feature piece”, so I asked the supposed owner about it to find out who the artist was or what the price range was since the info was not listed in the book at the front. I thought I imagined him ignoring me, but when he finally spoke to me he INSULTED me saying I couldn't afford any of the art—especially that one—and I should stop wasting his time?! Shocking and horrific at this lack of customer service, especially since prior to this interaction, my husband and I were both respectful, quiet, did not handle any of the artwork and I asked a simple question politely! Not sure why he assumed I could not afford the art—we were on an expensive vacation in Maui and looked like everyone else here in island-wear (not like we just came from the beach). I left embarrassed and angry, and found another gallery the next street over that treated us respectfully as we deserve. Coming here was the ONLY negative experience on the entire island but has stayed with me, and it deserves ZERO stars for its snobbery and disrespect. The owner ensured that even if I had been willing to spend thousands right there for the piece, I would NEVER give my money here nor recommend this place....

Very Expensive -- Try Lahaina We saw a photograph on metal that we liked and we had a very nice chat with the salesperson (LW). The price for a 30"x45" print he told us is $2500 and he would sell it to us for $1500 plus $300 to ship to USA or $600 to ship to Canada.-- for a total of $1800 or $2100. He told us his price was cheaper because his was the only such shop in Kihei and the rent was lower. We went to Lahaina a little later on our trip. There are 5 - 10 similar shops there selling the same type of print by reputed photographers -- stunning pictures really. We went into 2 of them. Both have their prices clearly available -- Fine Art Maui does not. Lahaina Printsellers sells these 30x45photo on metal prints for $1030 and shipping is $110 to USA and $135 to Canada. -- a total of $1140 or $1165. Metal on Metal sells these 30x45 photo on metal prints for $1199 with shipping to USA or Canada included. So Fine Art Maui was charging $600 - $900 (50 - 75%) more for the same product. We bought our print at one of these...

Excellent service and reasonable prices. My wife and I first met Chad in 2013 shortly after we retired and moved to Maui. We were looking for some local artwork to decorate the house we had just purchased. I came upon Chad's gallery on S. Kihei Rd while out walking one afternoon. A few days later we purchased a beautiful giclee triptych of tropical flowers and an exquisite hand blown glass vase. While waiting for the flower triptych (we wanted a size larger than the one in the gallery) we purchased another triptych. Obviously we thought the prices were reasonably priced. In addition Chad arranged for us to meet the artist and also came to our house to hang both triptychs. Not really necessary but a very nice touch. Since that purchase we have had Chad do several custom framing jobs and we have purchased a few more art pieces. Every time we have received excellent service and reasonable pricing.
