WARNING: Contrary to the information listed on Google Maps/Search, this is a 3-star resort without air-conditioning or breakfast. Whoever manages this business profile is intentionally disingenuous or incompetent. Here are some pros and cons about this resort:
Pros a) Economical: The nightly rate is absolutely reasonable for the area b) Location: Kihei is a wonderful town and it is centrally located to most excursions and the airport. It certainly helps to have a car c) Room: Spacious one-bedroom with a full kitchen and appliances (albeit outdated) d) Pool and spa: Very spacious and well-maintained e) Isana: An excellent Japanese restaurant. Make sure to make a dinner reservation ahead of time (the restaurant is not open for lunch)
Cons a) Lack of air-conditioning! Kihei is located in the valley between the mountains and next to the ocean, so it is a dry and hot town. Fortunately, it is also a breezy town. As long as you open every window in the apt, you’ll have a nice flow of air b) Lack of privacy: If you’re on the first floor and you’re forced to keep your windows open for air circulation, your privacy is limited c) Noisy!!: The walls are thin, so you can hear excess noise from your neighbors and the pool area. In addition, the nearby roosters start crowing at 3 AM! Without AC and with the windows open, it’s hard to sleep through the entire night d) Wifi: Absolutely terrible. Fortunately, the cell service (T-Mobile and AT&T) is decent enough (1-2 bars of 5G) that I could use the hotspot on my phone e) Cancellation Policy: Non Refundable if canceled f) No breakfast, as advertised g) Definitely not a 4-star resort, as advertised
The bottom line is this resort is reasonably priced for the area and the accommodations are spacious and comfortable. However, you should be FULLY aware of all of the negative aspects before booking your stay here. My overall rating factors in the misleading profile on Google...
Read moreThis property met our needs and was a great home base for our week on Maui! The unit was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The security guard was very kind and welcoming when we checked in after hours. Parking was convenient and the pool area was very nicely maintained. It’s true there is no air conditioning, at least not in our unit, but the screened windows and fans provided made the space comfortable at night. I can confirm that the reviews about an unhinged resident who yells at people from her balcony are accurate. It seems she has pre-recorded announcements (loud, seething statements) that she blares over a loud speaker. They’re not all that threatening, but are almost like what a parent would scream angrily at misbehaving children - so more bizarre and irritating than anything. They come out of nowhere, so you could be dozing poolside and be awakened by a loud speaker saying “HEY YOU, KNOCK IT OFF!!” She seemed to play these at pretty random intervals, but more regularly when children were in the pool. You just have to tune her out. The other reviews about a constantly-barking dog are somewhat true. We heard the dog several times, but it wasn’t constant when we were there. We are also dog owners, so that may have made it less noticeable to us. The restaurant at the property had a great bar and some delicious drinks. Very friendly bartenders!! In sum, the property is great and we would 100% return the next time we are...
Read moreAvoid Maui Beach Vacation Club (MBVC) operated by Soleil Management, 7200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Suite A Las Vegas, NV 89119 at all costs. Their lack of compassion and refusal to assist in terminating a timeshare agreement has left us in an incredibly difficult situation. Despite significant struggles and serious health challenges, MBVC/Soleil has been completely uncooperative.||We’ve owned this timeshare for decades, but rising costs have made it unsustainable. Maintenance fees have skyrocketed from $348 in 1998 to $1,136 in 2023, and RCI fees have nearly doubled as well. On top of that, the property has failed to live up to its original promises, the on-site restaurant, a major selling point at the time of purchase was no longer there when last visited in 2012, and booking through RCI has been riddled with headaches and extra fees that have cost us thousands of dollars.||At 80 years old, my wife and I can no longer make use of this timeshare due to severe health issues. Despite informing MBVC/Soleil of our situation and requesting to terminate the timeshare, they’ve offered no assistance. We’re now stuck with a mounting financial burden that risks being passed on to our children. This experience has been both financially and emotionally draining.||If you’re considering purchasing a timeshare with MBVC/Soleil, think twice. Their lack of support and skyrocketing costs make this a...
