There are a TON of companies doing whale watching tour is Maui, so here are some thoughts on Quicksilver which I hope help you pick! PROS: - Price! I found Quicksilver to be very reasonably priced compared to some tour options. - Vibe. The crew are so. Nice. They want everyone to have fun, insert lots of humor and warmth into their customer interactions, and are good at checking in and making sure you’re enjoying yourself. - Size. This is both a pro and a con, but as someone who can get a little motion sick, the Quicksilver is a much smoother ride than smaller ships. (They do make ginger chews and ginger ale available, which was nice, but the choppy ride out of the harbor made me glad I went ahead and took a Dramamine.) - Clean. Well-kept, clean feeling boat with little visible wear and tear and two very clean restrooms on board. - WHALES! The crew is skilled at finding “hot spots” for whale activity, as well as interpreting whale behavior to get a sense if activity is just starting or petering out. We saw three incredible displays on our trip! - Peace of mind. If it’s not a successful whale watching run, you can come back the next day for a free ride to try again. Not everyone has the flexibility to do that, but I appreciated knowing we had that option. CONS: - Parking. This is not particular to Quicksilver, but they did recommend two spots to park in, and neither of them were very helpful as they were both tiny, and completely full by the time we got there, which was early. 😅 HIGHLY recommend that if you have an afternoon or evening tour planned, you get there really early to get parking. Lahaina Harbor is a very popular spot! - Size. Because the boat is pretty big, the group of tourists going out with you is pretty big, which is not really my preference. There are actually some “bummer seats” that you wouldn’t want to get stuck with. (I will say, they do encourage you to get up and move around during the tour, so if you don’t feel limited to sitting, then, even if you don’t get a great seat, you can still get a great view!) - Finding your boat. Lahaina Harbor gets very crowded, especially middle of the day, so finding the sandwich board for your boat amidst the seven other boats that are shipping out from the same doc can feel very overwhelming. Again, I really recommend getting there early so you have plenty of time to find your way around. Final tip: We had a fun and very successful afternoon tour, but if I had it to do again, I’d go for the early morning. It is more expensive, however, it’s also way less hot (it was boiling when we went and it was March!) the lighting is probably better for photos, and I think the vibe in town would just be less crazy and more chill at that time of day. We decided for the afternoon tour because we didn’t want to have to get up really early on vacation, however, with the major time difference between Hawaii and the mainland, we were automatically waking up around 6 o’clock anyway. 😂 So for what it’s worth, that is definitely what I would recommend!

Aloha Everybody: Quicksilver took us out for the sunset cruise and dinner. Paul Keahi played acoustic guitar kanikapila Hawaiian jamz old skool and new school vibe was good, food was good, service was great. Unfortunately as we started cruising the Lahaina bay we all knew that the Lahaina fires were active (Nov 2022) and we had to circle around and our cruise was cut short, way short. The coast guard made us dock and all ships were abandoned to return to port and all visitors were ordered to evacuate the area indefinitely as the fires were bringing danger closer and closer. The fires were in visible range and it was sort of a panic situation to get out and not get trapped in due to only one highway comming in and out. This is where the Quicksilver rose to the occasion and really shined. Nobody ever gets to really see a fire life safety situation until one is presented. The Captain made calm announcements closing down the boat, waited in line to get us all past the boat traffic to get us safely to the marina. Then all staff jumped into safety mode helping handicapped and elders first, then women and children exit the boat safety. Followed by the men who were all helping. I was impressed with everyone’s call under pressure actions and I applaud the staff for working hard and professionally. After we returned from our vacation I emailed the Quicksilver to ask if there would be some descretion or discount applied due to the natural disaster and happily the Quicksivler comped us a free dinner/night due to the inconvenience which I was not expecting AT ALL! We had a part of 4 and rest assured when we return to Our Second Home Maui we will return to visit the Qucksilver once again to get the full effect of seeing the ocean from a beautiful boat. Prayers for those families and Aina affected directly by the Lahaina fires and wish for a blessed rebuild quickly. Aloha~ & Alllruigghtt!!! 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

Great experience taking the 5 hour snorkeling trip to Lanai. It was my first snorkeling experience. The crew was extremely helpful and funny. The boat was fun to be on— we had 70 people and I heard the boat can seat 100, so we had some space that clearly others wouldn’t have on full days (that would have been my only complaint— too many people, but this wasn’t the case on our trip). The trip to our snorkeling spot was about 1.5 hours each way— quite a ride to get there. We didn’t see much wildlife, sadly. Saw plenty of flying fish but not much else. Still, the captain kept us entertained with stories of the islands, etc. The snorkeling location was very private. It was just our boat way out there, which was nice compared to complaints I heard from others about tours with other competitors— too many people in too tight of a space. Anyway, we got to be in the water for about an hour. Being my first time, it didn’t take long to learn it and I was then immersed and didn’t want to leave. Lots of great tropical fish, coral, etc. We saw eels and morays that day, too, which was fun. Sadly we had to leave much sooner than I was ready. The ride back was an experience for many, though. It was a rough ride and several got sick and had to occupy the back of the boat to chum the water. Expect this, though, as you are on the open ocean and be sure to take motion sickness meds if you think you have a risk of getting seasick. The breakfast was muffins and fresh fruit, and lunch was a sandwich, chips, and veggies. The crew taught us about what to look for in the water, and they had a photographer taking pics of everyone in the water too ($75 of you want to buy your pics later). Overall, my wife’s chumming aside, we loved it and would do it again with them. Would have loved to see the spinner dolphins everyone talked about, or sea turtles, etc, but no one can control that.

My family embarked on the Quicksilver Snorkel Cruise in Maui, yesterday, and I must say, it was an absolutely incredible experience! From the moment we set foot on the boat until the final wave goodbye, every aspect of the cruise exceeded our expectations.

The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the opportunity to swim with sea turtles. These magnificent creatures gracefully glided through the crystal-clear waters, captivating us with their serene presence. The crew provided us with top-notch snorkeling gear and ensured everyone felt safe and comfortable in the water.

The Quicksilver cruise itself was a well-organized and seamless operation. The crew members were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and accommodating. Their passion for the ocean and its inhabitants was infectious, and it added an educational element to the adventure.

The boat itself was spacious and comfortable, with ample seating areas and shade for those seeking respite from the sun. The onboard facilities were well-maintained, including clean restrooms. The entire cruise was accompanied by a lively soundtrack, adding to the vibrant atmosphere and making it even more enjoyable.

One aspect that stood out was the attention to safety. The crew provided comprehensive instructions on snorkeling techniques, ensuring even beginners felt at ease in the water. They were vigilant in keeping a watchful eye on everyone, ensuring everyone's well-being throughout the entire excursion.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the Quicksilver Snorkel Cruise to anyone visiting Maui. Whether you're a seasoned snorkeler or a first-timer, this adventure caters to all levels of experience. It's an ideal way to explore the mesmerizing underwater world and witness the awe-inspiring sea turtles in their natural habitat.

Overall, our experience with Quicksilver was nothing short of exceptional. The professionalism of the crew, the breathtaking encounters with sea turtles, and the comfortable cruising experience all contributed to making it an unforgettable day in Maui. Trust me, you won't regret booking this snorkel cruise – it's an...
