Spirit of Clay — Attraction in Mayfield

So we moved to Mayfield village a little over 5 years ago & with me being an arts n craft girlie; this was one of the first local places we went to. I have a yearly tradition with my eldest where we make a new years plate every year with her hand and footprints. The first year we came the owner Cathy was very helpful and made us feel welcomed to the neighborhood. I think we may have come maybe once or twice throughout that year but of course we came the next New Year’s Eve to do our plate & she remembered us as if it was yesterday that we’d been in. She knew my name, my daughter’s name and what we were coming to do. I say all this to say; my daughter is 6.5 years old now and the bond we’ve created with Cathy has only grown stronger with each passing year. Cathy is such a genuine and kindhearted hearted spirit. She ignites a fire of creativity in my daughter that is a wonder to behold in the things they create together. We love her so much and look forward to every memory we make here with her. Aside from painting ready made pieces; we’ve also take the classes that Cathy hosts. My daughter has made her own bowl from clay, glass making and more! A nice place to go to put your little hands to work, my bestie took me in to paint a vase, then I popped in to get introduced to fused glass (and am hooked now) and my friends and I took a class on the pottery wheel recently. Kathy runs a high quality and fun place. I went with my wife and friends and their grandchildren. We had reserved the entire place for our large group. Two hours of decorating whatever piece you choose. And no matter how you think it looks when you’re finished, Kathy improves on it once she’s thru glazing it.
