We had a fun time! Enthusiasts see below for a more thorough review.
𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 Moderate immersion — the room is punctuated with video interstitials that create an illusion of pacing. There are no efforts to incorporate the clue system into the storyline, but the Grandpa character as great comedic value. The museum itself is of the small town variety, a great way to kill 30 minutes between appointments.
𝗣𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲𝘀 There are no puzzles except for physical jigsaw. Otherwise, there are instructions to follow—mainly finding and counting.
𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 The room boasted a 2 minute penalty for clues, but we were "nudged" with free clues every 5 minutes or so. The clue deliveries were hilarious, both in notification and in substance.
Room (and rating) aside, the owner emphasized that this room is not for people who LIKE escape rooms and was super negative on 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 escape rooms, which is counter-intuitive in an industry with high network effects (where every owner benefits from the growing interest in escape rooms). It's a very cool concept, well above average sized play area, and fun execution, but oversold in...
Read moreMy 9 year old loves anything that has to do with mysteries. This was the absolute best place we could’ve had her birthday party! It was sooo much fun, very educational, kids and adults all had a blast! I mean everyone is talking about going back & most importantly the birthday girl said she can’t wait to go back and is looking forward to another challenge. Though I forgot his name (I’m terrible with names) the gentleman that runs the Escape the Museum was so nice and accommodating. He absolutely made sure that we not only had a good time but that our birthday girl enjoyed her self. This was my crews first experience in any type of escape room and I couldn't have picked a better place! It's not an escape room, it's escape the museum and if you like solving mysteries and puzzles you will love it here. I honestly will be looking into a field trip back just to check out the camera museum. The collection of photos and cameras was very interesting. I had to keep reminding myself we were in the middle of a game lol. Thank you so much again for creating an...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic in all regards!! You know you are in the right place from the start when the proprietor, Scott, greets you. Very friendly, but don't let that fool you: he's sizing you up and his escape experience is very much hands on, of course for the participants, but also "more" ...and saying anything else could detract from a genuinely wonderful experience. Do yourself a favor and go in with an open mind and without pre-conceived ideas. We were a group with ages from 11 - 49(ish) and EVERYONE participated, had to think, was part of the team, and had a ball - this is NOT your typical escape room. If you want my advice, stop reading and just go with an open mind and prepare to have fun. If I could offer a few tips: listen to what you are told, be open, upfront and real about what you want the experience to be when you talk to Scott beforehand and you will have an amazing experience!! *We need more people/places that are dedicated to what they do like this. Take advantage of...
