Ski Daddy — Attraction in McKinney

Our college ministry has now taken two ski trips to Winter Park CO with Mike and the great people at Ski Daddy. Both times we have stayed at the YMCA of the Rockies (which I highly recommend for large groups). SkiDaddy's online registration and release forms made it SUPER easy to book, register, and keep track of your students and sponsors. The office is prompt with email returns and will take any questions you may have over the phone. The set up they offer for the the trip saved me hours (maybe days) of planning.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Our latest trip up the mountain, we were in a head on collision with a vehicle that lost control coming down the mountain. The emergency numbers (which I believe are the personal numbers of the owner, his wife and Kelly) were answered quickly and they helped us with shuttles to Winter Park (every day of our trip - because our bus was so badly damaged) and they took care of all of the ski rental arrangements (we were obviously going to miss out check in time). The staff was a great help throughout our whole trip and were willing and able to meet our needs at every turn. Our trip had a rocky start, but because of Ski Daddy we were able to have a great week, and our students were kept safe throughout.

I have had an opportunity to meet Mike the owner. Great guy and would highly recommend booking your trip with Ski Daddy. Other companies have contacted me with the "same' types of services, but there is no way any of them could offer the personal services that SkiDaddy has. When our high school youth group arrived at the Elevation Hotel & Spa, we were greeted by a wonderful staff. They helped us with the unloading of all the luggage and getting it up to the rooms. We had reserved a meeting room for each day and the hotel let us have the use of it all day at no extra cost. This was great for having a place to feed our teens and hold nightly devotions.

We rented our equipment from Flat Iron and the staff there was great to work with. They seemed very knowledgeable about making sure everyone was well fitted with the equipment we rented. They were willing to work with us when the teens wanted to make last minute changes on the type of equipment they wanted to rent and then when some of our youth decided that they wanted to go from snowboarding to skiing, there was no problems with the teens wanting to make these changes after one day of skiing already.

As for the mountain itself, Crested Butte is a very fun and challenging place to ski. There is a nice place for teaching beginners how to ski and then being able to progress in difficulty as the skier starts catching on how to ski. There is a wide variety and difficulty of trails to ski on whether you are a beginner skiing on the green trail or an advanced skier skiing on the black diamonds. The presence of ski patrol was everywhere always being there to make sure that someone who has taken a fall is alright or in helping someone who has made a wrong turn and winding up on a trail above their ability to ski.

First year using Ski Daddy for our high school ski trip (28 people) to Colorado and Kelly was amazing to work with, very responsive to all my questions and made sure everything was good to go leading up to our departure. Our group had an unfortunate delay in our return home thanks to an avalanche (thankfully we were still safe in the hotel), but Kelly and her team worked effortlessly in helping me book the hotel for another night and was reassuring in our phone conversations (even offering prayers for our safe journey home and student anxiety to lower).
