When I heard Kaili was opening a fish market at this location, I wondered why. When you build a better fish market, the world will beat a path to your door. I knew they planned on opening, so I dropped by to see what was up. I was astounded by the selection and quality of the fresh seafood on display. They even had budget-friendly collars, heads, and cheeks for those in the know.
I'm in the know, but I (almost reluctantly) opted for the stone crab claws and Kaili's own conk fritters. She said they were to die for, but I say they are to live for! I air-fried them according to her directions and was whisked back to my younger days when I would hang out in the Bahamas. You don't get real, loaded, conk fritters like that around here. Correction: you do now! She hooked me up with a luxurious remoulade sauce that the Bahamians forgot to serve with theirs.
It's been a long time since I have had stone crab that fresh! I cracked them all at once and made a bowl full of wanton decadence with butter, a little garlic, a hint of seasoning, and a touch of Mojo Criollo. Lobsters and other crabs would be ashamed to stand next to it. Forgive me, for I have sinned ... I did not savor it as I should. I shoveled in huge mouthfuls ... pure ecstasy!
Next time, I will choose from the fish—Red Snapper? Grouper? Flounder? Hogfish? Golden Tile?...
Read moreI finally was able to did visit Lamb and Co over by Eau Gallie. I am so excited to have this quality of fish and the selection available in Brevard county. Not only that, the owners are incredibly friendly, helpful and really want you to come away with what you want or might like. I was so happy with their recommendations to my questions.
The fish was just such great quality. The Chilean sea bass I cooked last night in parcels in the oven was so buttery. I don’t use any butter oils or fats. Just lemon juice, rock salt, pepper and fresh parsley. The fish was melt in your mouth good.
I also got mahi for fish tacos, super fresh and a great price. They also had fresh homemade mango salsa and pico.
As an added bonus for an ex-pat like me, they also have British bacon in the freezer.
I hope people support them so we can keep this gem in the community. The price was very fair for the quality.
As a side note, it’s sort of on Cypress road behind Starbucks in eau gallie. West of US 1, not in main downtown eau gallie. GPS took me on a wild goose chase so I just want people to be aware if...
Read moreHow exciting to find a local fishmonger with high-quality fish and a great business model! I randomly found out about this new business and headed down from Cocoa Beach (very easy to get to) to get some salmon. I met Kaili (owner) and her husband - they were both super friendly and welcoming. The fish is incredibly fresh and high-quality. Kaili discussed where they source the fish from. She has her fish cutting station right there in the open so you can watch her cut fish, and she will cut it exactly to what you need. I ordered salmon and triple tail. I cooked the triple tail exactly as she told me: salt, pepper, lightly dredged in flour and cooked in ghee (+cast iron pan) for 4 minutes each side. Served with a pineapple salsa I bought there. It was PERFECTION!!! Can’t wait to try the salmon tonight. This is an exciting new business on the Space Coast, high-quality and fresh fish, great fishmonger, and a great business model. Can’t wait to watch her...
