Love Elvis and what he did to change the entertainment world. However, the employees were all rude. I think they need better customer service training. The one lady at the ticket office was nice. And the one lady at the mansion door was nice. Otherwise, everyone spoke to me like I should know OR that I owed something to them. So weird. What a weird experience. I never give anyone below 5 stars… this was my first that I can remember. 2 stars because I love Elvis. (Also it was such an impersonal tour with audio guides headphones.) I do tours all the time across the nation. Mount Vernon, where George Washington (lived and died), was just as busy as this place but everyone was so friendly AND they had a personal tour guide. Also with Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.. so nice there. I typically try to post the good, but this one bothered me about...
Read moreElvis, The King. I liked a lot of Elvis music before I visited Graceland. I thought Elvis named it Graceland, but it was the previous owners wife. He liked the name so it stuck. Of course I was curious about the upstairs, but it's not open to the public. I respect his wishes for privacy. The you can visit the garden in the morning w/o paying for the full Graceland experience if money is an issue. It's be a nice place to come sit - I guess that's why it's the medatation garden... Very nice plot, with Elvis, Gramma, Mom & Dad, and his twin brother who passed at birth. Seemed to me Elvis was...
Read moreI was really happy to be able to visit the Meditation Garden. It's pricey to go into the Mansion and to the Museums, Studio and such. But in the morning between 7:30am - 8:30am you are allowed to visit the Meditation Garden for free. There's a guard at the gate where you check-in. There is another guard as you turn towards the Meditation Garden but you don't need to check-in there. You are not allowed to walk up to the Mansion, so when you walk up the driveway you stay to the right towards the pool and to the fountain where the Presley Family is laid to rest. Very thankful I could experience this. It was nice to be able to see some of the Holiday...
