My daughter’s wedding was held here in September 27th. The chapel is beautiful as are the surroundings. The minister was great. The communication prior to the wedding was terrible and very stressful. The first coordinator took weeks to respond to us. After sharing our discontent another coordinator took over. She was great and apologetic for our prior treatment. This person left and unfortunately we were stuck with the coordinator that was terribly rude... Beth. Beth was over the top rude. She didn’t get the music going correctly and held up the ceremony for about 10 minutes while everyone thought it was my daughter’s fault . She was short with her comments to the point that guests that knew nothing of our prior treatment asked us what Beth’s problem was. It was embarrassing and disappointing from start to finish. Beth couldn’t figure out how to pipe the music outside to the reception but had it blaring in the chapel. She just seemed to barely tolerate us. She was dressed unprofessionally. EVERY single guest travelled many miles to attend this wedding. My daughter is a die hard Elvis fan and a big fan of Priscilla and anything Elvis. This was such a huge disappointment and I know Priscilla would be mortified as would Lisa Marie. Because of this experience we will NEVER recommend it to anyone. I sure hope that Beth has to answer for this as she is a huge liability to Elvis, Graceland and Chapel In the Woods. We had over 50 guests who had to fly in and it was an...
Read moreMy husband and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal at The Chapel in the Woods at Graceland. We had a wonderful experience and so did all of our guests. We had been planning our event since January 2024 and had invited guests from 4 different states whom were in attendance. We were very nervous when three weeks before the event, we were informed that our wedding coordinator that we had been working with since January was no longer there. However, we had to start from scratch working with Jakyra Moore. Given the fact that we lived in Arizona and were handling all the plans remotely with nothing finalized at this point, and after paying all of our required deposits, we started lowering our ecxpectations after reading some prior negative reviews . To our surprise, Jakyra assured us that she had our day under control and everything would be perfect. We arrived in Memphis and met with Jakyra for the first time in person on Tuesday before our event on Saturday . We shared all of our concerns with her and she answered all our questions. She even coordinated everything with Delta’s Kitchen at The Guesthouse where we had our reception, the photographer, florist, shuttle bus transportation for our guests, music, etc. Everything was beautiful, and the day went off without a hitch! We would book this venue again...
Read moreFirst off this is a nice Chapel to have a venue for the price. However, you get what you pay for. This place has a BIG turnover rate with employees. From the time we started planning our event about a year out, we went through 3 different event coordinators at this place. Not one time did the communicate with us to let us know that the coordinator was different. Every time we called to asked certain questions is when they advised us that the person is no longer with the company. They don’t reach out at all to see if they can offer any services, they don’t answer emails or phone calls but will return your phone call about 3-4 days later. They didn’t mind charging $375 for a service fee for everything they coordinate for us but didn’t do not one thing. At the end we ended up having the boss open the chapel for us but there was a confusion on the time slot. My decorator couldn’t get in til 30 minutes before the wedding started because of the confusion between him and his staff. Then he rushed us out at the end of the ceremony because he somewhere else he had to be at the same time. While we was taking pictures, this boss, manager cut the lights off on us and started pushing us out the door. He was very rude and inconsiderate and I wonder why these people are leaving and not wanting to work for him. That’s the problem that...
