Edit: Believe it or not, this Damien clown STILL works here.
(Long but headache approved)
Recently purchased an Xbox One with Forza 5 bundled($499). I was helped by store manager Damien? I believe. When we made the $600+ worth of purchases we were told by the manager that we would get Forza for free(we did) and also if we purchased 12 months of Xbox Live Gold($60) we would get another $20 off and 2 free games(Zoo Tycoon and some other no name game Max something) so we agreed(free is free right?). After our trade ins we knocked off about $190 in store credit so we also purchased a second controller($65) and 2 controller charger($32). Now when I left with all my stuff I turned and asked Damien "Are all the codes I need for the games in here?" and his reply was "Yes everything is in the bag".
Get home and Forza 5 is there(2 hour digital download) then see the system comes with a 2 week free gold trial. Cool! Called Gamestop to ask about 2 free games and different employee says we have to enter the code and the 2 weeks will stack. So we enter the code and lost our 2 free weeks, and go to get our games and it says "$50"......but he said free? Call back and employee says code should be on the receipt highlighted.....um nope, all that was highlighted was a rate my service online thing(oh we will Damien).
Day 2- Wife goes to Gamestop to talk with Damien and show him he highlighted nothing. He asks if she has the Live code. Wife calls home while Damien calls "Gamestop HQ" Whilst my son is answering the phone, Damien says "HQ says this is a while supplies last thing". A "while supplies last" code for digital content that I was told was free for me AT my time of purchase? Was told Microsoft may be able to help us.
Wife calls Microsoft.....has GREAT experience and they tell her it is Gamestop thing but not before crediting our account with a free month of Live Gold(Point Microsoft) for the 2 week trial we lost woohoo!
Day 2(still)-Called Gamestop, Damien again, explained Microsoft said the issue lies with Gamestop. Damien told us to call corporate. Called corporate and they told us they would get back to us within 3 days.
Day 5-Called back to Gamestop corporate and nobody knew what we were talking about and were told Damien needed to call for a POS to "HQ". Called Gamestop again and spoke with Damien who apologized(too little too late but okay) and called HQ with wife on line. HQ had the codes but they were supposed to be "online only" but after explanation finally got our 2 free games......5 days later.
BTW.....Amidst all of this was told by Damien on day one "I'm not even a gamer.....I just run this place".......maybe Gamestop needs to look into hiring gamers as managers and not managers because they are managers. I am usually VERY pleased with all my Gamestop experiences and the employees have been VERY knowledgeable about any and everything gaming(umm it's called GAME stop) but this was just horrible, and for the amount of coin we dropped you'd think someone would've stepped up to the plate a bit sooner. We were mere minutes away from repackaging all of our new Xbox one toy and bringing it back for return for false advertising(which is what the Microsoft person suggested we do) and took the cash for our trade in and went to Best Buy to buy...
Read moreI called and asked if they take retro consoles in on trade and employee told me they do. I show up 1 hour later (30 minutes before close) and he looks me dead in the eye and goes "oh I wish you called sooner I'm not going to have time today" which i replied "i just called like an hour ago" to which he responded again with "yeh its going to take me longer than 29 minutes". NEVER in my years have i ever seen someone look a customer dead in the eye 30 minutes before close and point blank said go away we close soon. I had 5 years of customer service myself and let me tell you if someone walked in 1 minute before close we always took care of the customer (as annoying as it sometimes was). My boss would have straight up fired me if i sent a paying customer walking away 30 minutes prior to close. I've been a customer at this GameStop for over 17 years and have spent an embarrassingly amount of money here. I drove 20 minutes because this is the one I've always gone to but honestly my wife and i have had better luck at the West Bend location so i think we will just take our money there going forward. Still speechless by this...
Read moreI have been to this location several times and have managed to purchase 0 games. My overall experience has been absolutely horrible.
The first day a game was available for preorder I called and asked if the special edition was available for preorder and I was told yes. I arrived 15 minutes later. I then asked the employee at the desk and he laughed at me for thinking it wouldn't be sold out.
After this event, I preordered the standard edition of the game. After paying, I asked what the process was for pickup. He told me that he had no idea.
I went in yesterday to pick up a new game coming out. I made a mistake and it was a day early. The employee told me it comes out today and to come back tomorrow to buy it. No problem, my mistake. I come in today and was told that it was only available if I preordered. I drove to best buy and bought it off of the shelf. I will no longer be giving any money...
