I attended the bridal cupcake tasting event on 2/19/17. I was impressed, so I spoke with an employee and gave them my wedding details and contact information. She said she'd email me a quote, and we would take it from there. Great!
For the next 2 weeks, I checked in twice (once by email and once by phone), politely asking for an update. Used to receiving quotes back quickly from other wedding vendors, and seeing that the bakery had been very active on their social media account, I thought maybe I was just accidentally forgotten. It wasn't until I contacted them over Facebook that I was acknowledged.
I was promised I'd receive a quote in 3 days. Nothing happened, so I reached out again. They claimed having sent it out, but that maybe they had my email address wrong. They asked for it, despite it had been provided multiple times in various forms of communication. I shared it and was guaranteed a quote within a day.
Yes, I was contacted the next day, but without a quote, stating they thought I was a different customer in our previous conversation, and that my file was now pulled and prioritized due to the mix-up.
I finally received the quote a week later on 3/19/17. It incorrectly showed cupcakes for 190 guests (instead of our max capacity of 120) and a 2-tier cake (instead of 1-tier). I'm not sure how, since this information appeared to be taken down at the tasting. I requested a corrected quote and also had 2 simple questions regarding the mentioned cupcake tower rental and deposits.
That was 11 days ago, and still no response. Now having been 7 weeks since the tasting, my patience has certainly been tested. I'm beginning to wonder how many more weeks it will take to hear back? Regardless, I've reached my limits with this potential vendor.
Overall, it sounds like they were ill-prepared and don't want the business generated by an event they...
Read moreToday was my first time purchasing from the Confectionary Cupboard. I purchased a four cupcakes.
Atmosphere/presentation: The moment I walked into the store, I was greeted by delicious smells. The bakery area was small and right away you could tell this was a small, one of a kind place. There was a wide variety of cupcakes to choose from, including gluten free options. The frosting looked absolutely beautiful and I had trouble deciding which ones to get.
The taste: Among the four cupcakes that I purchased, there was one that I was quite disappointed in: the red velvet cupcake. A close friend of mine had recommended the Confectionary Cupboard and even came with me to the store, so I had set my standards high. The frosting was incredible, and as someone who typically scrapes the frosting off of the cake, I ate all of it. The actual cake part, however, was not on the same level as the frosting. It tasted bland, and had a dry and crumbly texture. It was as if it had been sitting out for a few days. For the other ones, however, the cake seemed to be alright. The real showstopper was the frosting! None of them tasted remotely similar, and I am pleasantly surprised by how different they were from every aspect. I am no cake expert, but the frosting is probably one of the best out there.
Final thoughts: Aside from the red velvet cupcake (which seems to be the only one whose quality seemed slightly lower) I would definitely recommend the cupcakes at the Confectionary Cupboard. The cupcakes look and taste great. They are definitely worth the price at $2.60 each or $15 for half a dozen. If you do wish to purchase some, make sure to get there earlier in the day. From my experience, they are sold out by...
Read moreI knew about this place, read the reviews and thought we should use them for our wedding. I know they close at 6pm on Mondays and we went in about 5:20ish or so. Wasn’t much to pick from which is fine it’s the end of the day anyways. The girl seemed very annoyed we were even in there, asking us do we know what we want yet, etc… and I said no this is our first time here and that we were stopping by because we were thinking of using them for our wedding in June. (Silence from her). So we got 2 cupcakes, 2 macaroons, and a brownie cup. Small, simple, enough to sample to see if we like it. She hands over the stuff to the other girl to ring us out and seems to walk away with attitude. The girl who was ringing us out was sweet, and answered my questions about the wedding information. (Very helpful). But honestly after leaving there, that just left a bad impression on us. The other girl didn’t seem very welcoming, or even nice to be honest. Such a shame. I’m glad this company worked out so well for others, but unfortunately we will be taking our...
