Bryce, the owner, and TJ, his grandson, own this establishment Rollerland in Merced California. The first step I took into this place was literally walking into the '80s even the very smell like a time capsule trapped in the '80s is this place that brought back so many fond memories not so long forgotten. I thank God for Bryce and TJ for truly hanging in there this entire time. I'm writing this to let everyone know out there to go and support Bryce and TJ in this family who owns an establishment, which could be and is, in my opinion, a historical building. Unfortunately, and sadly, the mayor of Merced is not helping to keep this historical building alive. I don't know about the mayor, but I don't want this place to die because the '80s is where I was born. In fact, I was born in 81. I encourage everyone who reads this to go and support Bryce at Rollerland in Merced California and I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed so let us come together as God-fearing Americans and support one another because I guarantee you that your government will not because the government is not God God is God so let's put our trust in him and love truly one another as Jesus has commanded us to do so. I hope the mayor reads this with all my heart and that he changes his mind to keep this historical building alive because it needs to be restored and I don't know how much more Rollerland can survive without our support. Let us make the change, so I'm calling out to every single one who sees these pictures and reads. My review will go forth and make it happen. By the way this establishment has everything that you need when it comes to restrooms plenty of seating and snacks with drinks old game machines especially that Metallica pinball machine that right there is a keeper I was stunned when I saw that. The roller skating rink has plenty of different types of games you can play while having fun with your neighbors and friends and family that have birthday parties for very good prices, especially these days. You will not be disappointed. May the Lord God bless Bryce and his family all these decades of hard work, and I hope that this will reach millions in...
Read moreWe come to rollerland with the kids school each month when it's available. We pay $7 per kid and adults are free. The skates for free as long as it was not the inline skates. The inline skates are $5. They also have these skating guards to help you keep balance that are $5. The one thing I did not like was the ratio of the guards to children. There were so many kids falling and they really needed guards. They should probably make at least 30 more of those to be able to rent. It's unnerving watching kids skate around possibly going to break their arm from lack of balance. But that's my only complaint. Overall it was a really fun experience for my children and it gives them an opportunity to exercise because they sweat profusely! And teaches them balance and how to skate. The best thing about it is that they get to have memories with their friends! They have a little snack bar. I think the food is reasonably priced. Pizza, soda, hot dogs.. normal concession food stand. They have DJ's playing music and they also turn off the lights and put on the strobe lights and black lights. They have bathrooms in there.there's also tables for you to sit and eat although they are usually filled to the brim with people. There are workers who skate around picking up children who have fallen. They help them get their little guards because sometimes they can't reach them if they let go. One thing for sure make sure to bring cash cuz they do not accept any form of card payment! I give it a four only because they don't have enough guards for children and it's kind of dated and needs a true upgrade because it looks a little dingy and dark. But as long as the kids are having fun it's a great experience! We will definitely...
Read moreOld is one thing, but filth is completely another. I honestly don't know where to begin. The restrooms alone should have the place condemned (no stall doors, overflowing toilets, gunk on urinal, no toilet paper, and horrible smell). The ceiling tiles and spider webs are just the beginning of the mess of this place! Wash your hands often!
Despite the filth described above, I still would've given it three stars, but on my very first (and last) visit, the owner was extremely rude to me and my family. After charging us $25 each ($125 in total) for the all-night skate entrance fee (7pm-7am), he then wouldn't allow our family to leave to go eat dinner without having to repay the $125 admission fee. When I reminded him that he had not explained this rule at the time he charged us the admission, and that it was our first visit to the rink and if we could come to some kind of compromise he began to be very rude. I offered other possible solutions including bringing in dinner to the kids or just leaving with a refund to which he refused. Then he smirked and laughed and turned his back on me. I am extremely dissatisfied with the awful customer service I received and would NEVER recommend this business to anyone. The music consisted of 95% Rap, about 4% Disco, and 1% Country. Worst public facility and worst customer service I've ever experienced. I wish there...
