Dulce Lash & Skin Lounge Mercer Island — Attraction in Mercer Island

I have been coming to Dulce for over 7 years now, with a little break of about 1-year. I've been seeing Niqi for over 2 years now, and having gotten my lashes done by at least 5 other estheticians (not all at Dulce), AND she is by far the most amazing! Niqi is consistent with her work - she's fast, efficient and ensures the service you book is completed the way it should be. I've had other lash tech's tell me that my lashes take less extensions despite the fact that I was paying for a specific extension set - aka not fulfilling the lash count that I paid for. Niqi always goes above and beyond with her care. She makes sure you're comfortable with the set-up and her work, i've had a dry throat sometimes and had to pause the service because Niqi would warm up water for me or find some mints. She is flexible to your preferences too - if you need a lash nap or don't feel like chatting, or you want to vent it out or just need a distraction from "real life," Niqi is always down. I also LOVE that she knows how to style lashes, she is the ONLY lash tech i've had who offered to help frame my face with lashes which I accepted and am so happy with how they turn out everytime. I used to just ask for what I thought was popular but popular does not mean it'll look good on everyone! Ever since she started styling the lashes to suit my face, everyone always comes and compliments my lashes. : - ) Niqi has also sugared me and tinted my brows - sugaring down there can be intimidating but she took the time to make me feel comfortable and even made it fun! I just had the absolute worst experience here. After waiting in the siting area for over 45 minutes for my appointment, we finally started with an eyebrow wax. It wasn’t a big deal, but the technician struggled with the wax a bit and ended up using soft wax (which she didn’t initial recommend because of my dry skin). Not big deal, and it turns out this wasn’t the worst that was to come. We moved on to my extended bikini sugaring and the sugar wasn’t the right temperature so I ended up with globs of sugar all over my genital region that couldn’t be pulled off in the typical manner. In attempting to remove it, the tech was pulling and prodding to get it off, each time pulling hard on the hair that’s in a sensitive area. Then attempts to wipe it off were just as uncomfortable and painful, with multiple trips to the bathroom to get water that was warm enough. I had wax and dripping water all over my hip and groin and the door was opened and closed multiple times while I was exposed. Just a very unprofessional experience. And I have to give the technician credit, because it may not have been her fault if the product wasn’t good. But I was in pain and miserable here.

In the end, absolutely NOTHING was done to compensate me for the 2 hour appointment (because of all the waiting) that should’ve been 45 minutes. I left without my bikini wax, but instead an extremely uncomfortable and painful experience. I had to go home and take a hot shower to get the rest off without it hurting.

I gave this place 3 tries. 2 at the Westlake location and once at the Mercer Island location. Overpriced with mediocre artists. First fill was a 1 week foreign fill from an outside lash artist. I just needed a touch up before a vacation and my typical artist wasn’t available. First fill I thought was great but again I had just gotten my lashes done 1 week prior so there wasn’t much to be done. Second fill was filled with Huffs and Puffs, sighs and a lash artist trying to get me to buy a lash serum. I’ve always had shorter natural lashes but have been getting extensions professionally for over 5 years now. Never had a problem. So after feeling like I was “in trouble” I decided to give the Mercer Island location a try. The artist was very nice but I must’ve been the last appointment before her break because it was RUSHED. The ends weren’t even finished. It didn’t look like my lashes were even filled. I completed the survey they send you after your appointment mentioning my dissatisfaction. The owner emailed me offering to fix my lashes free of charge… never heard back. Who knows maybe I just got stuck with the king artists but now it’s back to letting my lashes come out completely and finding someone new for a full set.
