Avest Plaza has a lot to offer. I mainly go to the Fred Meyer store to do my grocery shopping, although I've used some of the other stores too. I've lived in Meridian since 1980 (a transplant from Miami, FL... can you say Culture Shock?! 😅). Me and my family watched Freddy's being built and have been going there since they opened their doors. Can they be a bit more expensive, at times, yes. That's mainly on brand items. Since they started carrying the Kroger or Private Select names (I couldn't tell you when they added those to the shelves 🤷🏻♀️, they're just as good as brand names, mostly 😉), it's cost friendly, plus their coupons help a lot. And their meat department is awesomely fresh with good cuts of meat. The folks making a living there have been (I'm sure they've had their gruffs about it) pretty wonderful. There's about 5% of cashiers that were slower than molasses (can you even imagine? Lol) over the many years I've shopped there, but I soon figured that out I to just to got in another line (even if it's longer), and check out faster than the shorter, but slow a$$ line. 🤨😁 I've had my concerns over the years, like not enough, or falling apart, riding carts (I'm disabled), and I lucked out one day and saw a small group of men (3 of them) in suits. I asked who they were, and one said General Manager (the stars lined up or the universe was with me that day 😊), and I told him about the situation with the carts... low and behold, within 2 months there were, not only new carts, but more of them (theres still not enough because some people, you know who you are) just want to use them to umm... play around on or other wrong reasons, but are capable of walking! But can you imagine how amazing I felt that he took my suggestion (complaint) to heart and fixed the problem. 😁🤩 If you want something that they don't carry, just fill out a small request form, and they do their utmost best to get it in the store for you (it works, really works). So, yes, I'm very happy and proud to call my hometown, Fred Meyers, my store of choice. ❤️ The 4 ⭐️'s is because of some of the problems I've had over the many, many years. 🙂 (*No, I'm not a Karen, running to management, or raising my voice, for every little thing. So just hush up, you. 🙃😄) Thanks, Freddy's for being, now, right behind my house, sans the storage place between us. 🤩 It takes 2 minutes to get there unless we try and get out and make a left onto Locust Grove Rd when there's bunches of traffic. Sheesh.... Meridian has gotten too big for my family and my opinions. Sorry, I know a big part of it is that ITD can't keep up with the huge and fast growth. We love the diversity that's come into town, but with the huge Flux of people and prices sky rocketing (my opinion is it's still from all the horrible backlash of Covid-19, not the government. I know I'll have haters out there) we definitely should be getting more help (yes) from our local and/or federal government. Sorry for the...
Read moreIt's a strip mall around a Fred Meyer with a McDonald's and Key Bank throw in for fun. Subway and Hello in Thai ("Sawadee" Restaurant) are good, McDonald's is McDonald's (keep hoping my drive thru order is correct, but rarely is); Freddy's great produce and meat departments, generally prices are higher on dry good (waiting for an easier accessable WinCo). Never went into the Key, but most of it as...
