A visit to Julius M Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian, Idaho, is nothing short of a delightful retreat. As a sprawling 60-acre oasis, the park is nestled in the heart of the city, providing a resplendent venue for various activities that cater to both the young and old. We enjoyed Mother's Day recently at the park.

One of the most captivating features of this park is its immaculately maintained landscape. The lush greenery is not only soothing to the eyes, but it also provides an excellent environment for leisurely strolls, brisk walks, or invigorating runs along the winding trails. The charming pond, complete with a waterfall, serves as an elegant centerpiece, around which both locals and tourists congregate for picnics, relaxing, or feeding the resident ducks.

The park also offers a myriad of amenities. Families with children can enjoy the expansive playground area equipped with modern, safe, and clean facilities. The well-appointed picnic shelters with ample seating areas accommodated not only ours but other families also celebrating Mother's Day and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other under the spacious gazebos we find are great for group gatherings or family outings. Additionally, the park is equipped with basketball courts (there are public balls for use so we enjoyed a game of horse), another family was enjoying the sand volleyball courts, and a large open field for any spontaneous game of football or Frisbee. We saw some families also enjoying the fishing in the lake.

The park's bandshell, the "Mountain View Pavilion," is a great place for their outdoor concerts and community events and from what we understand there is a concession open from time to time also. But what stood out most about Julius M Kleiner Memorial Park is how it seamlessly blends the built and natural environment. The tranquility that engulfs this park makes it easy to forget that you're in the middle of a bustling city. It's a testament to excellent urban planning and landscape design.

Accessibility and parking are also commendable. The park has ample free parking, and the pathways are friendly for people of all mobility levels. The restrooms are well-maintained and conveniently located.

In conclusion, Julius M Kleiner Memorial Park offers a comprehensive package for anyone seeking outdoor recreation, relaxation, or a place to create unforgettable memories with loved ones. It is a testament to Meridian’s commitment to preserving and enhancing its green spaces for the benefit of its residents and visitors. A visit to this gem is well...

I imagine families and charitable organizations have more to say about this park than I do. Still, it gets a five star rating from my dog. I take her there nearly every day for exercise.

After we'd been going for more than a year, her physiotherapist suggested making use of the grassy hills at Kleiner to help strengthen her hind legs. Since it's so helpful to my dog, who my world revolves around, it gets five stars from me, too.

And it's worth noting that the grounds crew are very welcoming and helpful. And courteous to a fault. On our last visit we approached a landscaper from behind while he had a hard time getting a weed eater started. I was going to lead my dog around him, but he turned around and saw us first. He immediately turned the weed eater off so it wouldn't scare my dog as we passed. He even smiled and waved at my dog when I thanked him.

There are plenty of reasons we love this park. If only the geese could...

We held a baby shower 🚿 on Saturday 06.27.20 in the early afternoon. We purchased a park permit for the A-1 covered area.

Cost:👍👍👍👍👍 We paid $80 for a 5 hour time slot, given the amenities so close to our area, I found this to be a good value.

Amenities:👍👍👍👍👍 We were next to the playground and splash pads. Garbage and recycling bins were located at every corner of the enclosure. Restrooms were feet away. Very convenient to a parking area so loading and unloading supplies was easy.

Cleanliness:👍👍👍👍👍When we arrived the area was clean and in order. We were able to set up promptly and without problems. The restrooms were very clean.

Before arriving we were concerned that a lot of people would be utilizing the area we had the permit for and we’d have to ask them to leave. However, this wasn’t an issue due to park staff posting a schedule of events.👍👍👍👍👍

We gladly will...

Big, Beautiful Park! Kleiner Park certainly has something for everyone -- from Jogging/Walking Paths to Children's Playgrounds to Disc Golf to Bocce Ball to Fishing to large Pavilions to open spaces and more! The location is great, right next to The Village at Meridian. I also like the slow-speed, one-way traffic route that circles through the park, thus allowing you to get close to your desired area without carrying all your stuff for a long distance. The small hills add a feeling of expansive space while the fountains in the ponds keep the water looking fresh. I rate this park as a local treasure.

Very spacious and nature-filled. Great place to host/attend events. And even when there are events, there's still plenty of open park to explore on foot, with dogs, on a skateboard or rollerblades, with a fishing pole, etc. There are benches, grills, sand volleyball courts, restrooms, memorial-related things to see and read, and green grass everywhere. Not to mention some great hills for rolling down. Not that I've done this myself... Not sure what more a park could have, honestly. The only complaint I've heard is that it's too far away from BSU, which frankly isn't all that great of a complaint.

Fantastic park with a beautiful lake. They have paths and exercise equipment spread throughout. The playground is huge with levels of difficulty for every age. We were here for the annual Easter egg festivities which was a lot of fun for my 4yr old grandson. It's a must do for young kids because it's organized really well with plenty to do. They have segregated areas based on age with literally thousands of plastic eggs. The kids fill their baskets to the brim with eggs to spare. The park and the Easter program are worth a visit.
