Store #1252 (Meridian Location) 11:32 a.m. as I noted on my receipt...
Customers, please go where you are treated like a person and assisted kindly. Do not support this kind of behavior. Remember: Michaels shoppers can purchase items on Amazon free of being treated so rudely, can go to Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc... so many options...
I have been treated indifferently in the past and was fine overlooking that. Today was a different level of just plan rudeness.
Upon walking up to the register, the cashier said, "You can use the next self checkout". My mother and I walked up and my mom said, "how do I do this, I really don't like these". I said, "it looks like you put your phone number in". I read the screen and it said Sign in team member login...or something like that. The cashier said, "just put in your phone number". I read the screen out loud at that time and the employee said, "step to the next one then". So we did. She walked away from the front desk area and we were left there all alone. We fumbled through and my mom paid. The cashier walked back while my mom's receipt printed and said, "have a nice day". I had a purchase as well, so I started on that, but again, I had a few hiccups. I printed my receipt and then decided to say to the cashier, "It would have been nice if you had asked us if we had ever used these before and offered to assist us". She replied sarcastically sweet, "I would have been happy to assist you IF you had asked for help". I was shocked! I said, "that is your job as customer service assistant, to ask us if we need help, that is what you are getting paid for". She then replied, "You are the one who needed help so you should have asked me". I was shocked even further and said, "that is a whole different spin on customer service than I have ever had". I then asked to speak with a manager as I looked at her name badge (Marsha) and she replied there was no one there at that time. By then I was so offended, I asked her to write the manager's name down on the back of my receipt. She said, "I won't do that, you can ''. I replied, "I do not have a pen, again, it goes back to the customer service thing" (she had a pen in her hand). She did not say anything, but she laid the pen on the counter and turned her back on me. I then made my notes and left absolutely stunned. Speechless. I am shocked a company would keep such a poor customer service person at the registers. As I got in my car I thought, I should have just returned my items I purchased. Had my mom not been with me and she was needing to get home, I would have. I can in the future go to many other stores. I will remember this exchange and will choose that option in the future. There are enough competitors and they employ people who want to be kind and be helpful. Michaels, as a company. remember your direct sales are reflected by the people you put in your stores. Sadly, Marsha is one of your front end assistants and she should be removed. This complaint probably won't change anything but I do hope it makes management stop and really evaluate how their front of their stores are staffed. I am taking time to complain but know many will just walk out and not come back, ever! When stores close down because sales are dropping, remember, it all starts with the people you choose to pay. How those employees choose to treat your paying customers. I hope the money you pay her hourly is worth the lost revenue of 3 paying customers (I have already spoken to another person and they too said they will not go back because of the poor customer service they have encountered there). I will encourage others to shop and invest in companies who are investing in employees that then want to invest in their customers.... Fellow customers, go where you are treated like a person and assisted kindly, do not support this kind of behavior. Michaels shoppers can purchase items on Amazon free of being treated so rudely, can go to Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc... so...
Read moreThis latest visit was not good. Usually my visit to this store is always very good. This time was completely different. The store was clean and organized. You can tell they definitely need more employees. I applaud those working here now. My issue with this visit was with the bathroom toilet seat in the handicap stall. See I have a walker. I need it for a number of reasons. For this I need to be able to safely use the handicap stall. Well while I'm right in the middle of relieving myself the toilet seat decides to take a hard left without any kind of warning whatsoever. In an effort to catch myself because the whole seat I was sitting on completely shifted I actually fell completely off the seat and onto the floor. I hit my shoulder and elbow on the hard time floor and I was thoroughly disgusted because while on the floor I caught a glimpse of all the nasty stuff left behind after the bathrooms were cleaned. After gathering what was left of my pride and getting myself off the bathroom floor I left the bathroom and told my fiance what happened. We decided we should tell an employee so no one else gets hurt or completely embarrassed like myself. We approached the first employee we saw and proceeded to tell her the seat was broken. We didn't have to tell her for long because she stopped us and acknowledged that the seat has been broken for a while and it's almost sent her to the floor herself. She said they ordered parts and they're waiting on them to come. Now please do not get me wrong because I know that not everybody knows how to fix a toilet seat. Now don't get me wrong I'm not perfect myself but, that part that needed to be fixed on the toilet seat cost less than $10 at any plumbing store. There are two different stores in the same complex that sell the parts needed to fix the toilet seat. I would think that it would be more important to avoid an embarrassing lawsuit than to just simply wait for the said part to come in so that it can be fixed. I'm left with bruises on my...
Read moreAs a professional artist, I do not buy canvasses online because it is too hard to ensure quality and one cannot check for warpage (often an issue with mass-produced canvasses) unless one buys in person.
My review is for professional grade deep profile canvasses (Artist’s Loft, Level 3 - cotton-duck, gesso primed, gallery wrapped) in particular: I have searched EVERYWHERE for canvasses in this part of Idaho at decent price points and I can assure you: there is NO other store (not even other Michaels stores in the area) that beat their pricing on these specific canvasses when they run their promotions.
I literally bought 9 such (medium and large) canvasses today for $125.00 at buy 1, get 2 free - if you know what these canvasses cost, you will know these are a steal. Never warp (but you should still always check for nicks and warpage in store before purchase).
Highly recommend. And they often wish me a Merry Christmas and are very helpful....
