This review is based on my sons experience here. He is 17. I have been to this antique store plenty of times and have always had an enjoyable time. My son and his female friends were asked to leave because they were too young to shop here. I’m completely blown away by this because he and his friends did not enter with backpacks, respected the property and were not in anyway looking for trouble. They were looking for items that were suitable for a project they are interested in. However, were asked to leave because of their age. How is it accepted to marginalize prospective buyers based on age? I find this completely unacceptable. If you do not want minors in your store there needs to be signage displayed on the entrance. It’s illegal to discriminate based on age. I understand that there are issues that can happen which can make employees wary of young purchasers inside an antique store. Marginalizing buyers based on age in a store where the past can be remembered is ludicrous. How do you expect the kids of today to have respect for the past if your employees simply single them out because they are there on there own accord. My son and his friends were followed the whole time and then asked their age and told that they needed to be 21 to be alone in the store. If that’s the case put up a sign that states so. They do not sell alcohol -to my knowledge or tobacco. I’m extremely disappointed in how my son and his friends were treated. Once asked to leave they politely left and headed to Goodwill. Age discrimination by businesses of this nature is illegal. If you want to only cater to those who are 21 and older you need the proper signage...
Read moreSigned up to be a vendor there, lady said I could leave a deposit of as little as $20 but I left it for 1st months rent, $200, to make it easier for her. Two days later I called to say something came up and instead of the following month I'd have to postpone my moving in for a few months, instead of saying "No problem, we'll be here when you're ready, would you like us to just hold your deposit?" The first thing she said was "You know your deposit is non-refundable!" I was dumbfounded, this was 2 days later!!? When I tried to reason with this person, and mentioned the fact that they said I could have just left a $20 deposit her response was "Well, that was your choice!" So, because I decided to leave a large deposit for her convenience I am now out $200, that this woman basically stole from me! I've been in business a long time and have never seen anything so unethical in my entire life!? I never write reviews on the internet but people really need to know how this place does business, and hopefully it'll save someone else from getting completely ripped off in the way that I was! Oh yeah, if you notice the other negative reviews, that mention a lady named Katie, that is the same person that...
Read moreIncredibly rude and unwelcoming staff. My boyfriend and I stopped in looking for decor for our home but our experience was ruined by the staff working there. So much so that we decided to leave and not give them our business, even though we found items we wanted to purchase. We were not greeted when we entered like everyone else was. We were given dirty looks. We were clearly being followed by multiple staff members around the store. One lady even looked at my boyfriend and I, sneered and loudly scoffed in disapproval of us said “oh gosh” and walked away. We are in our thirties and clearly not the welcomed clientele here. I would think the older generation would be glad younger people are interested in antiques but, apparently not. Will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone under the age of fifty as you will notice the discrimination and your shopping experience...
