Discovering Dinosaurs at Tyrannostorus: A Must-Visit for Little Paleontologists

If you're looking for a unique adventure that will delight any dinosaur-loving child, look no further than Tyrannostorus. This charming little shop is a hidden gem that offers more than just shopping—it's a hands-on experience that ignites the imagination of young minds.

During our visit, the highlight for the kids was undoubtedly the fossil digging activity. They got to dig in and unearth their own "fossilized remains" which was both educational and enormously fun. The joy on their faces as they made their discoveries was priceless.

The store itself is cleverly arranged with a variety of dinosaur-themed items that cater to children’s curiosity and play. From detailed models to educational books, every corner of Tyrannostorus is designed to foster learning and excitement about the prehistoric world.

In conclusion, Tyrannostorus is not just a store, but a wonderful journey back in time that offers a fun and educational experience for kids. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and explore this delightful destination. Your little ones—and even you—might just come away with a newfound love for...

Are you kidding me with this place? I’d say it’s a kid haven but I’m a full grown adult and didn’t want to leave. My kids, 4 and 6, were encouraged to touch and discover things all over the store-museum. There is SO much to see. I was worried it would be all hokey little dinosaur toys (they do have some toys) but we were looking at real fossils, resin encased bugs, shark teeth and more. There’s a sand pit to dig for fossils, you can buy bags of sand to sift for gems or even buy a geode and have it cracked open in store. It’s just an interactive place. They offer classes and I definitely plan to enroll my kids. I didn’t catch his name, but the man who runs this place is insanely knowledgeable and happy to share his facts with customers. My kids took to him right away because he has a wonderful way of engaging “students”, animated and passionate and not pretentious as some experts tend to be. My son was star struck once he learned this man does ACTUAL digs.

The prices were reasonable, in my opinion. We got some cool stuff and have...

Last year I was in Phoenix for work and am a huge dinosaur fan. Fortunately for me this store popped up in my search for things to do on the weekend. I was staying in N.E. and it was a significant drive to make it .... and very much worth it. Staff was friendly. Prices were wide ranging - a great thing! (If you just brought the kids and only have a few bucks - they have things you can get.... if you're looking for that showpiece above the fireplace for your fancy house on the lake - they have things you can get). Wide selection of merchandise. I was treated like a dignified guest in a museum. Staff were plentiful and acted more as guides than salespeople. When i asked to use the restroom the toilet paper roll holder was a bronze dinosaur head! The dedication to make the place feel cool was amazing. The staff would walk up and actively engage in sharing knowledge with a bright attitude. I was impressed. I am visiting family for the holiday and am dragging my family back because I am so excited with this...

I admit, I was somewhat nervous bringing my youngest son into a store that sold fossils, minerals, etc., but from the moment I set foot in the door I was assured that kids were welcome and touching items in the store was encouraged. There are so many interesting things to see, touch and purchase for all ages. This is the best experience I have had bringing young kids into a store in years. I bought my son the motherload bag of dirt (arrowheads, minerals/gems, fossils) and it was worth every penny to see the look on his face as he sifted out shark teeth, crystals, fossils and artifacts one by one. I would recommend anyone make the trip to see the displays and items for sale. Fossils, shells, minerals, insects, and more... The staff was just incredible. They were knowledgeable, polite and great with curious little kiddos... I was very happy with the entire experience that is Tyrannostorus... I will be back very soon!

I was anxious as it would be a new place to visit with 2 special need boys and cousin. The staff was so sweet and reassuring. We did the motherload bag experience each- you go through and pick out awesome treasures. We had a gentleman stand close by and explained what we'd find, and made sure my youngest didn't throw anything away. It was awesome to see all fossils and bones. We got polished rocks and rocks we got to break open on top of that. The kids are wanting to plan a second trip. I expressed to my family I wanted to go alone and do another motheroad bag to take some time to myself haha. There are different bag sizes and different experiences..and even a sand one we may try for next time. Thank you to everyone there..I can't express a great experience we had. We'll be back soon.
