Discovering Dinosaurs at Tyrannostorus: A Must-Visit for Little Paleontologists

If you're looking for a unique adventure that will delight any dinosaur-loving child, look no further than Tyrannostorus. This charming little shop is a hidden gem that offers more than just shopping—it's a hands-on experience that ignites the imagination of young minds.

During our visit, the highlight for the kids was undoubtedly the fossil digging activity. They got to dig in and unearth their own "fossilized remains" which was both educational and enormously fun. The joy on their faces as they made their discoveries was priceless.

The store itself is cleverly arranged with a variety of dinosaur-themed items that cater to children’s curiosity and play. From detailed models to educational books, every corner of Tyrannostorus is designed to foster learning and excitement about the prehistoric world.

In conclusion, Tyrannostorus is not just a store, but a wonderful journey back in time that offers a fun and educational experience for kids. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and explore this delightful destination. Your little ones—and even you—might just come away with a newfound love for...

Are you kidding me with this place? I’d say it’s a kid haven but I’m a full grown adult and didn’t want to leave. My kids, 4 and 6, were encouraged to touch and discover things all over the store-museum. There is SO much to see. I was worried it would be all hokey little dinosaur toys (they do have some toys) but we were looking at real fossils, resin encased bugs, shark teeth and more. There’s a sand pit to dig for fossils, you can buy bags of sand to sift for gems or even buy a geode and have it cracked open in store. It’s just an interactive place. They offer classes and I definitely plan to enroll my kids. I didn’t catch his name, but the man who runs this place is insanely knowledgeable and happy to share his facts with customers. My kids took to him right away because he has a wonderful way of engaging “students”, animated and passionate and not pretentious as some experts tend to be. My son was star struck once he learned this man does ACTUAL digs.

The prices were reasonable, in my opinion. We got some cool stuff and have...

Last year I was in Phoenix for work and am a huge dinosaur fan. Fortunately for me this store popped up in my search for things to do on the weekend. I was staying in N.E. and it was a significant drive to make it .... and very much worth it. Staff was friendly. Prices were wide ranging - a great thing! (If you just brought the kids and only have a few bucks - they have things you can get.... if you're looking for that showpiece above the fireplace for your fancy house on the lake - they have things you can get). Wide selection of merchandise. I was treated like a dignified guest in a museum. Staff were plentiful and acted more as guides than salespeople. When i asked to use the restroom the toilet paper roll holder was a bronze dinosaur head! The dedication to make the place feel cool was amazing. The staff would walk up and actively engage in sharing knowledge with a bright attitude. I was impressed. I am visiting family for the holiday and am dragging my family back because I am so excited with this...

Tyrannostorus is nothing short of a dinosaur or gem lovers dream come true! But honestly, anyone will find this new Mesa store fascinating and fun - there’s just so much to see and learn about! What will you find inside? There’s lifesize dinosaur head replicas, a large variety of dinosaur replicas and relics too! You’ll shells of all shapes and sizes, an impressive collection of minerals and gems, fossils, the largest geodes we’ve ever seen, and SO MUCH MORE. Just browse and be impressed at all the earth can offer. The highlight is definitely the excavating station. Anyone is welcome to purchase a bag of dirt in various sizes and see what wonders await! You can get bags with gems, fossils, or arrowheads. Our 7 year old chose the Emerald Bag, and found some real gems (no pun intended) that he now has displayed proudly on his dresser. There’s also a nice clean up station and restrooms. Another aspect of @tyrannostorus was the amazing employees that were so knowledgeable. No question was too small, from child or adult, and the facts just kept coming. Even if you don’t choose to excavate fossils or gems, just browsing is like a fun interactive experience - and it’s free! Put Tyrannostorus on your list to visit this weekend, or over spring break! 📍 1816 W Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202 ⏱M-F 11am-7:30pm, Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-5pm 💲free to browse and touch all the things! Various prices for items on sale. Excavation dirt ranges from $4.99-39.99. 💻 https://tyrannostorus.com/
