This is hands-down the best South Indian restaurant in the area! Perfection!
As I walked up to the front, I loved being able to see the menu outside. The lunch plate that came with a mini dosa, chutney and sambar PLUS a whole plate of rice, curries, pakodas, and dessert really drew me in. All this for $15 is an amazing value.
I grew up eating South Indian food and this place really delivers:
The dosas were super crispy and perfect, and I loved the potatoes, chutney, and sambar that came with it.
The plate of food that came afterwards had it all. They even spiced their crispy pakodas with a chaat masala, which no one does these days. The rice and chapati went perfectly with the mixed-vegetable curry (kootu), daal, and the side.
For our sides, we tried the lamb Rogan Josh and the Chettinad chicken. I can honestly say that both types of meat were the most tender I’ve ever had. I’m still dreaming about it. They also had a wide variety of options to choose from and I can’t wait to go back and try some more.
Mysore Pak is a difficult dessert to make and they had a very sizable portion that they made in house. 👌 No notes, just perfection.
The service was fantastic as well. I had a couple people come up and ask me how everything was. And the food came out really fast and hot!
As I was leaving, I also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, an incredibly nice man who mentioned that they cater as well.
Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is decidedly homemade since the flavor profiles are all extremely similar to what I grew up eating.

We visited Arusuvai Kitchen today and had a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and efficient—our server, Pavan K, made sure everything was perfect for our table of four.
Every dish we ordered was packed with authentic flavor and cooked to perfection. The Chicken Majestic was a great starter—crispy, spicy, and flavorful. The Chicken Nuggets with Fries were a hit with the kids, perfectly cooked and served hot.
The Tandoori Chicken (medium spice) was juicy and well-marinated with the right level of heat, and the Thalappakatti Mutton Biryani was a standout dish—aromatic rice with tender mutton that melted in the mouth. The Kothu Parota with Chicken & Egg brought back true South Indian street food vibes—so satisfying!
We ended the meal with Rasamalai, and it was heavenly—soft, chilled, and just the right sweetness.
Highly recommend Arusuvai Kitchen for anyone craving authentic Indian food in Mesa. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreThis place is a gem for South Indian food lovers! Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and felt like a comforting reminder of home-cooked meals. We started with the Chicken Majestic, which was crispy, spicy, and perfectly marinated — one of the best versions I’ve had in a long time. The pakoras were fresh, crunchy, and not overly greasy, making them a great appetizer.
The dosai was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, served with flavorful chutneys and sambar. The kothu parotta had the right mix of texture and spice, and the biryani was incredibly fragrant, with tender meat and bold spices that didn’t overpower the rice.
Service was warm and attentive throughout the meal, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of. The atmosphere was relaxed, and everything came out hot and fresh.
I’d definitely come back again — whether it’s for a quick dosa fix or a full biryani feast. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic South Indian...
