Had a great time with Wild Lime. Booked a last min half day the night before. Just called and was connected to a person right away. It was mentioned this is the âslowâ season so may have to book a lot sooner at different times of year. I was texted multiple times to confirm details which was nice. They picked me up from my hotel the Loews at 730 in a nice clean and cool Sprinter van. I was grouped with a few other people, nice lady with her daughter and a guy from London. The guide was a younger guy who started 6 months ago but did a great job. After the pick up it was a short 45min drive to the Everglades national park. We did a nice nature walk on one of the very nice and paved trails. Very easy, you could do it in flip flops if youâd like. That is allotted about an hour or hour plus. Our guide was knowledgeable of the areas vegetation and wildlife. Def nice to have someone to give some background on the area and the wildlife. We saw some birds and bugs and lizards. Then spent some time at the visitor center. Afterwards we went to the Tigertail Air Ride and that was really fun. That started at 11am and went till about noon. Saw a few alligators which was cool but I liked the ride in general. Enjoying the scenery was a treat in itself. Afterwards we were dropped off at our hotel around 1 ish. Some tips if going in hot July. Bring clothes built for the heat. Bring sunglasses. There were no mosquitos but I put on deer either way. Sunblock is a must. Also I believe they provide all these as well as snacks and water. Overall if your looking to kill half a day and enjoy some outdoor time I highly recommend. I felt like it was a great value for all the effort put in for the pick up, guide, air ride, etc. Aldo donât forget to tip your guide and...
Read moreWild Lime Adventures in the Everglades was the right choice for our family and we had an excellent day! We took the family for the full day-long immersion into Everglades National Park and Big Cypress Preserve that I highly recommend. Our group was only 8 people in the van --very manageable. Our guide Abigail was a young wildlife biologist full of energy and curiosity, who knew all the stories and history of the area. We learned so much and saw a ton of wildlife (without having to bait any with marshmallows). The airboats and skiffs we took are operated by the local Native American tribes that live in Big CypressâŚthey took us to super cool village âhomesâ in the âGlade, and they know the names of all the gators. We got lunch in a local bar, and the best part for me was the discovery of 'cypress domesââŚone of which we walked into ( with our guide going first in case of snakesâŚand yes indeed there was a little cottonmouth curled up on a log right next to the watering hole, which got Abigail super excited cause she loves her snakesâŚ). Another treat was being out in the Ten Thousand Islands waters looking at the roosting pelicans when a whole pod of dolphins came over to play all around our skiffâŚand stayed with us the rest of the time. My girls lost their minds with glee. What a great day, 7:30 AM meet up - 4:30 PM drop off. Not cheap, and well worth every penny if you are there to LEARN and appreciate the land we live on. You will come away with a new appreciation for our...
Read moreSuper well maintained new air conditioned bus to Shark Valley that picked us up as our hotel and returned us to the hotel at the end of the tour. The guide was really good. Our guide took good care of the group, was really informative about the wildlife and the history of the area. Super-hot day for many of us non-Floridians but she kept the pace at a level that was comfortable so we could enjoy the sights without the distractions of trying to hurry to keep up. Nice visitor center with clean restrooms and some snacks and merchandise that was fun at the head of the paved trail through the walking tour. Very wheelchair accessible if needed. Second part of tour also super. Fan boat through the grasses. Saw gator a few feet from boat. Visited a couple of the tree islands natives hid on to avoid capture when they were being hunted for relocation. Visited one tree island with gator hatchery and conservation efforts in place. Learned the history of one of their 60+ year old gators who'd lost an eye and been pretty beat up in a fight for her territory many years ago. She has lived on this tree island for over 40 years. Another island had thatched roof pole buildings and walkways around the island so you can see what the living conditions might have been. Now an area for gatherings. Learned how the natives managed to get the area designated as a reservation for them. This tour was the best tour we had on our...
