If you care about the project you need done, I do not recommend this business. I called in July to ask about having a custom baptism gown made for my daughter from my late mom's wedding dress for her baptism on 10/8. Plenty of time to get a baby's gown done, right? Fidencia assured me she loved these kinds of projects and, even though she's very busy, she could get it down for October. I bring my mom's dress on July 18th, discuss the project with Fidencia, and get a ticket that she wrote 9/15 as the date for completion/pick up. Perfect! I called around 9/22 and Fidencia LAUGHED and said she had not started it yet. I reminded her that the baptism was 10/8 and she assured me that she would do it that week and call me when it was done. I have my doubts but have hope due to positive reviews on here. Well, I called today to see if the dress is ready for pick up and again she LAUGHS about how she still hasn't done it. 4 days before the baptism.. and she's the only one laughing about this. She assures me that she could do the dress today or tomorrow but how can I trust that? At a normal PROFESSIONAL business, it would have been done by the date on the ticket. It wasn't - okay I give her an extra few weeks and she promises to get it done - still hasn't! What sane person would trust her at this point? My mom's dress is sentimental to me & now I have to scramble to find an alternative dress for my daughter to wear on Sunday!! I went to pick up the wedding dress and she was apologetic but also still taking this all very lightly! I have dealt with tailors and dressmakers a lot in my life as a petite woman and NEVER have I experienced this level of unprofessionalism. I would steer clear of this business if you care about your project actually being done on time or done at all! I'm just trying to save someone else the aggravation of dealing...
Read moreI've gone to Fidi for years. I took a very expensive, long gown in to be hemmed for a black tie wedding. When I took it in she was very busy--four clients waiting plus myself. No greeting, just "go to the changing room" I went and changed, put my heels on and waited my turn. Her phone rang and she picked up and began a personal conversation that lasted the entire time I was there. Her friend was on loud speaker through everyone's interaction and through my appointment while she marked my hem without even asking how I wanted it--I had to talk over the friend who was on the phone to ask her questions and and have her show me where the dress would fall. She did hem it in time but it wasn't great quality work and my dress was wrinkled beyond belief. I said, "you don't press the items you alter?" She said, "I don't press anything, my shoulder hurts--you can steam it." Well, I don't have a steamer--so now my dress still isn't ready to wear to the wedding and I need to find a streamer before I go. She's very blunt and doesn't seem to care about her clients. I...
Read moreI’m not sure show she can be voted the best in Bergen County. I took a pair of cuffed dress shorts to her. The original thread used on the hem came out. When I picked them up I noticed she missed sewing the hem in some spots and she didn’t use the correct color thread. She used black instead of the original off-white thread which you could still see. I ended up taking them to someone else to fix and she did a fantastic job. I wouldn’t use or...
