Not personable and is afraid of being upfront with customers about percentages and amounts. Lacked the transparency-- when directly asked what percentage he pays, to just say "I pay 75% of spot" and instead went on a long winded thing about how gold could go down or whatever. I know how gold shops work, clearly you're not paying spot buddy, but if you're too afraid to say what you are paying, that's probably an indicator you're paying below market average.
