Consignment Originals — Attraction in Milford

I've been a buyer at Consignment Originals in Orange for years but only started consigning recently.

Overall, I really like this place. As a buyer it's great that the merchandise changes frequently and you can get a fantastic deal. I especially enjoy shopping the half-off racks where you can get great labels for only a few dollars. My biggest complaint as a buyer is that they don't take returns. I understand that the items are on consignment and a return can certainly complicate the payout to a seller, but there are many times I've walked away from a purchase (usually something for my daughter...Will it fit? Will she like it?) because of this policy.

It's more complicated as a seller. I really like the ease of getting rid of unused items and making a few bucks for my effort. But emphasis on a few bucks. I get it...this is a for-profit business that has overhead. But as a consigner you need to go in with low expectations. There's no getting rich when your items sell. You make a fraction of what they're really worth. Use it to clean out your house, not to make money. And then there's the complication of reclaiming your unsold items. You personally need to locate your things from the many racks to take them out of inventory. It's not as easy as it sounds and I've 'donated' quite a few things unexpectedly because I was unable to find them. Are they floating in the store in the wrong location? Did they sell and I not get credit? Were they shoplifted?

Even with the flaws, I still give this business five stars. Honestly, I don't know how I could make it run any better myself.

Well, there is one thing. I would hire more people like Jess. She always goes out of her way to help and is really enjoyable to talk to. The consigning area is crowded and busy and requires a patient person to staff it. Jess is absolutely perfect for the job, which I frankly can't say about the other female that works behind that counter. There have been times I've left feeling a bit annoyed at the abrupt and coarse behavior of that employee.... Consignment Originals, you need more people like Jess! She represents your...

I don't judge from the buyers side, I don't ask how dirty and ripped clothes and shoes ending up on the store shelves while high quality perfect condition clothes are not accepted but I was trying to figure out in 2 occasions where are my 2 famous brands hand bags ending up. First time upon my request to show a sale proceeds I was asked to comeback week later, they still claimed it was sold but refused to provide the proof.it was brand new with tad DIESEL BAG. Second time after they accepted i did not see it on the floor. WHEN I got my check via mail that bag was not on the list as sold.I suspect they are practicing deceptive uproach selectively picking up some articles and swept under the table. I am not first one who mentioned that fact over review.

That business has no idea about business integrity neither human decency. Most of the store staff are obnactious and pretentious like they are working in high end Hollywood boutique. In reality they are just one sick organizational culture.

I decided to put a few luxury items into consignment with this location as it was my first time and unfortunately 2 of my items were incorrectly priced out which would have resulted in me losing over 200 dollars. But thanks to the store manager jackie. She immediately intervened and rectified the situation the same day. Jackie was very professional and went above and beyond to handle the situation. I can without a doubt highly recommend this location for all your consignment needs and if you were to have an issue of any kind make sure to contact the store manager jackie as she will make sure your experience goes smoothly. The store could have easily said oh well mistakes happen not our problem. As im sure some places will definitely do but not jackie she made sure that this problem was handled right away.
