Sunday night, October 4, 2020, 8pm. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS AND DOWNRIGHT UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! I drive up to the drive-thru menu with my children to order some shakes....we drove from Bridgeport. We always drive to this location because it’s the closest to us and there’s always some kind of issue. Tonight takes the cake! I have never, in my life, been treated so poorly and completely disregarded as a paying customer! We were told that they were only accepting cash at the drive-thru because the card reader was not working. No problem. I understand. The drive-thru worker then proceeded to inform us that we could pull up to one of the stalls and order from there if we needed to pay with a card. I thanked her AND TOLD HER that that’s exactly what I was going to do. I pulled up to stall #3 and sat for just a couple minutes to decide with my kids on what we wanted to order. Once we decided, I pressed the red button, which then the screen said that it had been activated and someone would be helping us shortly. We WAITED FOR 20 MINUTES with no answer whatsoever while I watched in my rear view mirror, car after car going through the drive-thru, fulfilling their orders . MANY CARS! At that point, we thought maybe stall #3 just wasn’t working, so I backed out and then pulled my vehicle, WHICH IS VERY BIG AND VISIBLE, into stall #4, which happens to be pretty much directly across from the drive-thru window!!! I pressed the red button for the same activation and message and WAITED ANOTHER 15 MINUTES!!!! STILL NOTHING! After becoming frustrated with the utter incompetence and feeling completely ignored, I pulled back around to the drive-thru menu to complain and hopefully still get some SERVICE and some shakes, that WE DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM BRIDGEPORT FOR, I was treated LIKE I MEANT NOTHING TO THIS PERSON! SHE WAS COMPLETELY SILENT! NO APOLOGY OR WORDS WHATSOEVER, FOR ALMOST ANOTHER MINUTE! MIND BLOWING! Finally, this idiot responds with the question, “so are you paying with cash or a card?”, AND WITH A PISS POOR ATTITUDE IN HER VOICE! I almost drove away at that point but figured since we had already taken the long drive AND WAITED OVER A HALF HOUR FOR SERVICE, that I would still try to get this order placed while it finally seemed like I had the chance! She then informed me that I could place the order at the drive-thru menu and then pull back into a stall where they could bring it out to us and then there I could pay, using my card. I placed an order for 3 shakes and then for a Hot Fudge Sundae (with nuts), SINCE RIGHT ON THE MENU IT SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTS THE CUSTOMER TO ASK FOR NUTS! (THE PICTURE OF THE SUNDAE SHOWS IT TOPPED WITH NUTS!). The drive-thru worker then immediately tells me, with an attitude in her voice, that they don’t have nuts. I asked, “ you don’t have any nuts in the entire establishment?” AND THEN SHE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME THAT THEY DON’T CARRY NUTS! I told her that the menu tells the customer to ask for them and that numerous items SHOWN ON THE MENU, are shown with nuts!!!! At that point I was just done and completely disappointed and frustrated and angry at this MIND BLOWINGLY HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE that me and my children had just received. I then told her that I was all set and no longer wanted anything from them and was leaving, and once I said that, she let out a very loud laugh as if she just took pleasure in being a completely trashy excuse for an employee as can be just because I had complained about THEM NOT EVEN COMING REMOTELY CLOSE TO EVEN TRYING TO DO THEIR JOB!!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND DISGRACEFUL TO TREAT ANY CUSTOMER THIS WAY!!! I will never go there again and will recommend to anyone that I know to go elsewhere. Also, because of how bad of an experience that this truly was, I will be following this review up with as many negative reviews as I possibly can on the internet and I will also be contacting the corporate offices to take this as far as possible! All of our food was very delayed even though the person on the stall speaker said it would be coming shortly. Our car/stall had two online orders from two different people. The first order we placed came a long time after the second for some reason. Our entire experience at Sonic was more than an hour total, not including actually eating any of our food.
Before either of our original 2 orders showed up, we pressed the button on the stall to order another item (fried pickles) that are not available to order on the online app.
Before I even had a chance to speak, the person with the microphone LOUDLY and RUDELY said "Your order is coming soon sir OH MY GOD". She then hung up without even letting us speak. They assumed we were angry and upset, before we even said anything. All we wanted to do was order a few more items. Our order wasn't that large or difficult to create. We have come here multiple times and never had a problem until tonight.
Once the car hop did finally arrive, she was very rude. There were items missing from my order. We told her nicely, and she rolled her eyes at us, walked away with an attitude in her step, waving her carry-cart around wildly. We gave her no attitude or reason to act like that.
She came back shortly after with our correct order. She told us that something was wrong with the stall and that in order to buy any more food, we would have to go in the drive thru. So we did, and that was yet another bad experience.
We ordered at the speaker. Everything seemed correct. Once we got to the window, the order was missing items. I was told I never ordered fried pickles or a 2nd chili cheese fries. At the ordering kiosk, the girl definitely said back to me "what size for your pickles and fries".
We overheard her speaking to someone (maybe a manager?) that "they never ordered that" , and was then told I'd have to wait a while longer. 10 minutes later, everything was finally correct. It shouldn't take more than an hour for an order of about 12 total food items.
All of our food was not hot, but lukewarm at best. Many items were undercooked or sloppily put together. The fried pickles had raw batter on them. Our hot dogs looked like someone took a bite out of them. It really made our appetite disappear.
It seemed like we were discriminated against. There were many other customers who seemed to have no issue or difficulty with their orders. I believe the car hop was friends with one of the other customers, as she was laughing and smiling with them, while we were immediately given a bad attitude from the start.

Read moreMy coworkers and I drove over an hour to go get Sonic last night at the Milford, CT location. We entered stall #6 at almost exactly 10 PM and waited for some time without getting a response. We tried to flag a staff member but they were not paying attention. Then we tried stall #7 and had the same experience. I got the server's attention and explained that both of these stalls were not receiving a response and she replied: "Oh that one is broken." I suggested that they put a sign on the broken stalls. She did not apologize or appear concerned and turned her back on us to walk away. I was baffled. Next, we went to stall #8 and there was a windows computer error on the screen so we knew this one was broken too. At this point, we had been waiting for over 20 minutes to place our order. We had been watching cars come and go with food while we were sitting unacknowledged. Finally, we drove around the building to find the lobby which was closed and ended up in stall #12 where we received an immediate response. I placed my order and again tried to inform them of the broken stalls. No response. The staff member who came out was the same person who told us the stall was broken. She was unbelievably rude, jerking my card out of my hand and giving us complete silent service. She also intentionally did NOT provide us a receipt of the transaction. During our wait, we called the Sonic customer service number and the phone call suggested to press the red button and ask for a manager. We did this twice and we were never responded to again. Our total wait time for our food was over thirty two minutes. Afterward we went through the drive-through for a second order. Again, we received utter rude service by your staff with quick retorts of “we are out (reese’s and watermelon)” snapping “what size?” and then silence at the window. Again, I had to ask for my receipt which she had to REPRINT. My second server was Shevene. Our first server who was the worst of the two is unknown because I never got my receipt.
