if I could give them zero stars I would. The first red flag was when I walked into the store. I smiled at one of the workers she looked away from me, didn’t even greet me. I was in the front of the store looking at what items they had and every time I moved, she moved with me which seemed like she was following me, which I’m sure she was. this encounter made me want to leave, but I decided to just walk away from her and check out a different part of the store only to be followed by another worker but this time it was a man. I was by the frozen food aisle. i’m looking at what they have on the shelves and every time I make a move he moves. I chose to just ignore it and move on, but when I go to check out with my items, all the cashiers were talking to each other before I approached the checkout lane, but when I got up there, I smiled at my cashier and she didn’t even say hello. She didn’t even say a word to me, let alone look at me. as she’s checking me out, she doesn’t even say the price of anything, doesn’t even ask if I want a receipt, it’s just pure silence. at the end of me checking out, once the receipt printed she didn’t even give me the receipt in my hand she places it on the counter and doesn’t even look at me. However, as soon as I walk off, she continues talking with her coworkers. I would never go to this store again, and if you’re a person of color, I wouldn’t recommend this store neither. Please do not give them your money. this store does not deserve your money. I would recommend the Indian market on Boston Post Road. this place was just disgusting as well as...
Read moreLarge, spacious, clean, organized, and well-stocked Asian grocery store. There is a wide variety of vegetables, seafood, meats, refrigerated and frozen items, packaged and bottled ingredients, snacks, beverages, houseware, and kitchenware. When you have time, I suggest walking through the store to familiarize yourself with where certain items are located to lessen future shopping times. If you are in a rush and searching for a product, do not hesitate reaching out to someone on the floor such as a stocker or employee working the register. There is a slight language barrier sometimes so I prepare photos and names of items I need ahead of time. It is important to note that just because this is an Asian grocery store, do not expect every single item you need to be carried here. Asian cuisine is very broad and stores may choose to carry more of somethings than others. For example, I was looking for hijiki seaweed to make a Japanese side dish, looked in a couple aisles where it would be among other seaweed during a couple separate shopping occasions, and found out they do not carry it. Furthermore, having just moved back to Connecticut from New York, I find that the prices of items do not...
Read moreGMart Supermarket in Milford had a Grand Opening today. The place has huge spaces to let people shop comfortably for their favorite produce, fresh seafood, live lobsters and crabs, all sorts of meats, canned goods, Chinese and south Asian cooking ingredients, dumplings, fruity drinks, snacks, anything you can think of they would have. The place is immaculately clean and the manager is super friendly and helpful. I was told there will be a multi-cultural food court coming soon, plenty of space to sit and grab a bite with friends and family after a long day of shopping. I will definitely tell all my friends to shop there and will go back very soon.
3/7 - made another trip to this wonderful supermarket today. For those that are conscious about keeping everyone safe from the spread of COVID, they now installed hand sanitizers as well as offering disposable gloves as soon as you walk in near the entrance. I can see their stuffs are flying off the shelves as more and more people found out about the place. It was such an enjoyable experience every time I shopped there. There is so much this place has to offer and I am super glad they...
