SwaaD — Restaurant in New Haven

Don’t underestimate the food truck look… these guys are real chefs! This is the most authentic Indian butter chicken I have ever had. The roti was handmade and more of a paratha texture than tandoori. The Kati rolls had distinct taste, and were rolled in real Kati roll laccha paratha not a pita from Costco or something like NYC trucks. I totally recommend Butter Chicken, Roti, Paneer Kati Roll and Chicken Kati roll. The meat used by SWAAD is zabiha halal, so worry not if you go by the code. The location is so central in New Haven, sort of between University of New Haven and Union Station. It is right on the main road and the parking lot has plenty of space for all the cars that were coming and going with their takeouts. I am certainly going to stop again next Friday when I am on my way...

Excellent food. Dosa was very tasty. The chutneys for the Dosa were so delicious. I think they're the best I've had. Some might find it a bit spicy but it was perfect. A slight kick but super tasty!

Their Chicken Manchurian and Chicken 65 were very good. We ordered medium spice level and they were quite spicy for non spice lovers. If you can't handle spice go with mild. If you can handle spice medium was good. The noodles were also delicious. Not dry, perfect consistency and flavorful.

The portion sizes are really good for the price. I highly recommend this place. We had a wonderful service experience and food lived up to our expectations. If you aren't a fan of spice definitely go with mild...
