Fantastic experience. I decided to treat myself to a bra fitting, and two properly fitting bras. I was trying to decide between going to Nordstrom and Whispers, and I’m so glad I chose Whispers. Lori, the owner, greeted me as I walked in the adorable shop. I instantly felt at ease with her; it was like chatting with a friend who happened to be an expert in lingerie.

Lori showed me to a dressing room and brought different items to help with the process: a lovely white satin robe, a white camisole, and a hair clip to keep my hair out of the way. I generally hate shopping, and I walked in thinking I’d only buy two bras, but Lori kept bringing me one amazing bra after another and I actually enjoyed myself. She fastened each bra herself and meticulously inspected the fit. She taught me about different brands, the proper care and maintenance of bras (never knew you shouldn’t wear the same bra two days in a row), and how the construction of different bras produced different effects.

It was hard to choose, but I purchased a convertible comfort bra (Wacoal) and a “sexy” bra (Le Mystere), and placed an order for a strapless convertible (I think it was also Le Mystere, they had my size in beige but not black). I also bought a black thong (hanky panky) and an adorable black lace bodysuit.

They create a personal profile for you, and they noted the bras that I loved but didn’t take (two everyday bras from Natori and Fit Fully Yours). The prices are not cheap but I felt they were very fair, especially when you consider the quality, the expertise, and the difference a well-fitting bra can make. I will...

The only thing worse than having to replace a worn-out bra is having to replace ALL of your bras because your size has changed (in my case, from 44DD/42DDD to 42C/42D).

I did the work of going to the mall and trying on 50+ bras in multiple sizes and found one that both fit and looked good (on clearance, too, score!). This is not a sustainable shopping process. In addition to finding the right size, the right fit depends on your breast shape, fullness, how tall the gore/cups are, etc.

Then I went to Whispers From Lady Olga. Lori measured me and brought me four bras to try. In less than half an hour, I left with two bras that fit perfectly and one more on order in a different color, for under $200. The bras sold themselves when I compared how I looked wearing my own bra vs. the recommended bras under my shirt.

This store is very professional, but it just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t allowed to browse the bras on my own, they made me do a proper fitting, which made me very uncomfortable to have to stand almost topless in front of a stranger while other people walked right by, I felt like my partially naked body was in full view of everyone in the shop. I was also very disappointed in their return policy. As someone with a very large chest, I need to wear a new bra for an entire day to make sure it fits and works well for me. But their return policy states that only unworn bras with tags can be returned, and only for store credit. So I paid $90 for a bra, and within a few hours of wearing it, realized that it did not fit properly and was very uncomfortable. But because I had already worn it, the store refused a refund.
