One River School of Art + Design — Attraction in Millburn

Beware - this place is a scam! I took two courses with them and haven’t even completed the second one due to personal reasons. To my surprise I found recently that they’ve been happily charging me $180 each month long after I completed the second course! When I called them to get refunded the director got all defensive, claiming they excplained me that they will continue charging me because “they are like gym” (what???). I think I would have remembered such explanation, plus, who takes art classes for the rest of their lives? And their intention clearly was charging me until I die if I didn’t notice. Now I am trying to get the refund through my bank, and the interaction just created a lot of unnecessary...

My son attended camp here in August. We had a fantastic experience from the very start. I had to reschedule due to conflicting activities and the staff could not have been more helpful in accommodating our needs. My son was met with warm and inviting teachers that provided high level art instruction all week long. His final outcome came home with all his planning and sketching. I could truly see how he was taught to develop his project throughout the week, leaning into experimentation and process. The work is large and awesome and hangs framed on his bedroom wall today. I will be back at this location for sure. Perhaps even for myself in their adult classes as I love...

Update: after my tantrum, they let me out of the airtight contract. My child likes the classes, so ultimately I'd give them another chance. I will be more upfront with my timeframe next time.
