Arbor Plus — Attraction in Millcreek

I couldn't be happier with the work from ArborPlus!! If you don't have time to read my review in full. Go no further with your research and just call ArborPlus now. They will exceed your expectations!! I had HUGE box elder tree that blew over onto my house during our recent windstorm. Fortunately my 101 y/o brick home held up better than I thought it would (the 3rd “little pig” was correct); however, I needed to get the tree off my house ASAP so my insurance agent could assess the damage and the power company needed more space to reconnect my power line that was severed by the tree. I can't tell you how many tree companies I called only to learn, from the few that returned my phone calls, that the soonest they could help me was 2-5 weeks out. It made sense given the extent of downed trees that our community along the Wasatch Front needed removed but I still wasn't satisfied with those wait times. Then a close friend told me he saw ArborPlus remove a really big conifer from his neighbor's yard earlier that day and he got me contact information for ArborPlus' founder/owner, Jon Kammerer. Jon asked if I could meet in within the hour to check out my tree removal needs and gave me a bid that was almost half that of another well-known tree company that wouldn't be able to remove my tree until the middle of October! Jon said he would be able to remove the tree within 4-6 days. I said fantastic! A mere three days later one of ArborPlus' crews showed up at my house with a gigantic telescoping crane, large wood chipper and an army of at least 6 people with chainsaws and a bobcat. It was 6:00 pm when they arrived and I was concerned they wouldn't be able to get the job done before dark. Less than two hours later the tree was gone and so were they – impressive! They were very mindful not to damage the plants in my backyard any further than the tree already had. The next day another close friend asked me who had done such an excellent job removing my tree. One of neighbor’s garage was crushed by a fallen tree and their cars inside. I passed on Jon Kammerer’s number. Great experience from quote to follow-through. I'm hard to please and Arbor+ did just that.

I contacted them to identify what was happening with our aspens. Jon, the owner, came by and put our minds at ease that they were not dying, but probably suffering from a fungus due to the wet spring we had. He didn't force any products or services on us...didn't even try to sell anything. He just made suggestions. Another question we had was about removing a willow, which he quoted for us.

The quote was done via email and was easy to understand. The price was fair, so we agreed.

The crews seem to be pretty busy, so our appointment was set for about a month out. The crew showed up and got right to work. This is what impressed me the most: a crew of 3 guys worked together like a band...everyone knew their role and didn't really have to say much to each other. Plus, watching them remove a 30' tree in a matter of 20-30 minutes was a lot of fun to watch.

Something that stuck out to me was that these guys really cared about the job. I could tell they knew their tools, the tree, and what a customer wants. Each one of them was polite and professional. Plus, not many service providers are comfortable with someone watching their work, but I could tell they were so skilled and experienced that it didn't bother them.

A couple days later, I started to move the stump shavings around and found that a significant portion of the root ball hadn't been ground down. I spent about an hour digging it out, but that resulted in very little progress. I emailed them to see if they could come back and get the last bit of stump removed and one of the guys, Nate, showed up first thing in the morning a few days later (today). Round 2 was a similar experience -- he was professional, courteous, considerate, and efficient.

The whole thing is exactly the experience I want and expect from a professional services company. When I'm told what to expect and their actions match what they say, I'm happy. No surprises!

I'll certainly use Arbor+ in the future for regular pruning and check-ins to make sure our little forest of aspens stays...

We chose Arbor+ to remove 3 large trees from our front yard after receiving bids from 5 tree service companies. Honestly I felt good about all of the companies that we contacted but after careful consideration felt that Arbor+ may provide the best value.

We are definitely happy with the results. Our experience with Arbor+ was positive from start to finish. Our initial contact consisted of a message sent requesting a bid through their web site. The response was timely and we set an appointment for just a few days later. Charles visited our home and consulted with us. He was exactly on time to the appointment. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had a bid via email within minutes.

Once we made the decision to go with Arbor+ we called and a date and time was set for the work to be done. We were made aware of each step that would take place and were kept well-informed. We even got reminder calls for the appointment.

On the day the work was done the crew arrived EXACTLY at the time they said they would. Every member of the crew was friendly and hard working. We had a huge elm tree that we worried about being troublesome but they came with all of the right equipment and set straight to work. They worked together like a well designed machine. Everyone had their job and they were obviously experts.

They completed work earlier than anticipated and cleaned up perfectly.
