Gotta give my honest review, might be a little harsh, but this is the honest account of my experience with level 9 sports. I should also say that this is more a review of a single ski tech that messed up, but level 9 wouldn’t work with me one bit on this, so here we are. I got my brand new skis mounted with bindings bought from Level 9 in December 2019. They skied great for 4 years, but in May of 2023 I had a catastrophic failure of the mount. Both heel pieces ripped out of the skis at the same time while skiing down at the end of a work day, causing a nasty crash and major damage to the skis. Fast forward a couple weeks later when I had time to take them to the best reviewed ski shop in the Denver area with pro level ski techs and they were disgusted at the condition. Whoever had mounted them in 2018 had messed up the holes and failed to seal them as well leading to rot in the cores of my skis, which led to their ultimate failure. When I contact Level 9 and communicated this to them, they wouldn’t take a single bit of responsibility and told me they couldn’t do anything, and that it could have been my fault?! They said it was totally reasonable for a mount to blow out after 4 years of skiing. So I would strongly urge you to look for a more professional shop to mount your skis. TLDR: Level 9 tech messed up my mount causing complete binding failure and nasty crash, and when I contacted them, they would t take any responsibility or offer any help whatsoever.

This is what level 9 will do to your equipment if you bring it in for a “premium” tune. I’ve been buying gear from level 9 for years now including a brand new set of skis earlier in the season directly from the mill creek shop. I figured hey why not try out their tuning services as well. After dropping my board off I was called a few hours later from the shop to be informed they ground my board to the core during the tuning. The shop manger never apologized and tried to blame the equipment itself and offered to potentially get me a discount but nothing was guaranteed, and he refused to take any accountability. They don’t have you sign waivers or explain any sort of potential damages in the tuning process. I had to go to corporate and a district manager in order to get a replacement ordered for my board. It’s been on order for 3 weeks now. Simply calling the store and asking for an ETA on the board is being met by unessecary attitude. Whoever is answering the phone is to lazy to even check the tracking number. I’m just excited for the board to come in so I never need to step foot in or think about this lame store again. So that’s been my level 9 experience. Save your time and money and go somewhere else In SLC.

We have been long time customers of Level 9 and in the past 12-month period alone spent over $2,000. We just purchased a new set of bindings and had them mounted to my wife’s skis (after buying new ski boots and having them customized) and when she picked them up the edge under the binding was separated and repaired. Prior to them mounting the new binding they even tuned the edges and did not notice the separation (which you would have). The separation is large, and it was not there when we dropped the skis off. The skis were repaired with epoxy upon picking them up but is saddens me they would not take responsibility for damaging and basically destroying an expensive pair of skis. I am not the person to typically leave negative reviews, but I feel the shop should own up to what they did. I will point out that Mandy did a great job fitting my wife with new boots. Be careful dropping skis off at Level 9 and make sure you take photos of the skis current condition as they said “we did not do it” and we will now have to purchase new skis which is ridiculous! The skis were in perfect condition when we dropped them off with the original bindings on them.

ANOTHER EDIT: I received no email if you sent anything recently. What email do you have? I don't care if you share just the email address.

ANOTHER EDIT: L9 owner, show me where you sent out this mass email with my registered email account in the to: field, and I'll take this down. I monitor my email closely, and I received nothing from y'all.

I'm not surprised hiding behind your contract was in your reply, but I guess I figured when the girl told me I was going to receive that email, you'd hold up your end of the bargain. My theory - L9 purposely did not send that email, you took my clothes, donated them, and received a nice tax deduction at my expense. I suppose that's part of your revenue model. Well played 👍.

Like I said, show me sent email, and I'll delete this.

NO EDIT. THIS PLACE STILL SUCKS.

DO NOT CONSIGN YOUR STUFF HERE!!!

If I could give negative stars, I would. I dropped off 3 winter items to sell on their shelves. I asked what happened if they don't sell, the rep said that they would call or email me to come pick them up when they swapped winter for summer inventory. Come mid May, I hadn't heard anything. When I called, they told me that they had DONATED my items and to basically go screw myself. These were brand new items with the tags on that MSRPed for $1300 collectively so it's hard to believe that they actually donated these instead of storing them in a warehouse for next season.

I read the terms, they should have emailed me, and they didn't. No one at customer service could find the email so I know they dropped the ball, and I'm out a bunch of my hard earned money.

So disappointed. Never stepping foot in their stores ever again, and I was a loyal customer that was just trying to make some extra money. Shame on them for how they treated me and the situation altogether....

"Complete Overhaul?" My arse... I took my bike in last year for the Complete Overhaul ($200) based on the recommendation of a friend. After having my bike for a bit they called saying I needed a new derailleur, which was odd because it was not that old. I agreed for them to order the part and my bike sat. I called looking for updates and they would tell me the part was delayed and so I waited and my bike sat some more. I called again and the part was once again delayed all the while good riding weather was beckoning so I couldn't wait any longer and told them never mind that I would ride as is for now. The shifting was noticeably worse than when I brought it in as I now had problems accessing all of my gears. The issue would come and go so I figured, "they were right I must need a new derailleur." Not wanting to drop another $200 bucks I decided to grin and bear it through the season. I finally decided to buy a new derailleur but thought I'd try tuning it up first to see if I could make it work. Sure enough, I could not get it to shift properly. It didn't behave like the derailleur was the issue but instead it felt like the cable was binding up inside the internal routing of the frame. I pulled the cable and it was trashed. Clearly it had not been replaced the months prior in the "complete overhaul" as the cable could not get this bad in such a short period of time. I bought some new cables and now the derailleur shifts like a dream. So, I paid $200 bucks for them to not do what they were supposed to do and try and make me pay for a brand new $200 part I didn't need. Complete. Utter. Rip-off. I would not recommend using them....

I had both good things and bad things happen here. I bought a bike from them and it was a solid bike at a solid price. I had such a good experience that I went and got the employee some beer as a thank you. When I took the bike out for the first time there was an odd clicking. Not all that uncommon for a new bike that needs to be dialed in. I went ahead and took it back in. This employee said that I was cross chaining and that I could solve this by getting a 1X system. He also took it for a ride in the parking lot and was popping wheelies. I have no clue how this helps diagnose a shifting problem and I found it a bit disrespectful. I know exactly what cross chaining is and I was not doing it and I didn't want a 1X system. I just wanted the bike I bought to work. I went home and for a another ride and it was still happening and I was absolutely not cross chaining. I called them up and talked to what sounded like the same employee and said that I should get a 1X system. God forbid I want the bike that I literally just bought to work. I went ahead and took it in again hoping that guy wasn't there and luckily he wasn't. The mechanic was great and it turns out the front derailer was hitting the sprocket.

Moral of the story is that you can get a great bike here. The first and third employees I worked with were great. But if you ever find yourself saying this guy is kind of an a$$h%&t he probably is and you should talk to someone else.

Update: Someone reached out to me and it really seems like I got a bad apple or maybe he was having a bad day. Overall I think this is a...
