This park didn't impress me very much at all...but it is a little known park I believe. It would be a good place to go if you wanted to be by yourself as I don't think many people know about this park. It's located up at the top of a steep hill and there are steps that go up there. Yes, it has a kiddie play area that seems to have a few people there but there are large expanses of grass too...and park benches. One thing I didn't like at all is that the one bench had a huge pile of brush right in front of it? It almost looked like someone had piled it there? I mean you are up at the top of a tall hill but you can't actually SEE anything from the bench because you would be only staring at these sticks! There are other benches further to the south but they really don't seem to have a view either? Lots of trees, brush and greenery. But it would be a great place to be alone. This park does have a Little Free Library in front of it and it was well stocked with books during my visit. There is another park down below this one if you go down the very long wooden stairs. The stairs are in good condition but it can be quite the climb. I am also very uncertain if the park below is part of this park or if its a different park? But since the tennis court below has the name mckinley I presume the park below is mckinley as well...so this review only applies to the park up above on the hill. Oh...there is a lookout just north of the park. You can see the lake but you have to stand. No place to sit at this lookout.

Beautiful small neighborhood park located steps from Lake Michigan. The park is filled with old amazing oak trees, and it gives the feeling of an enchanted forest. Its the perfect park for relaxing on a picnic blanket, playing catch or having lunch. The playground equipment is geared towards younger children and is fantastic. They have swings, a slide and also monkey bars. The park is super clean and they offer plenty of park benches throughout. If in the area, I recommend visiting. The park is dog friendly.

The Milwaukee County Public Park System is one of the nicest in the country. Of course, this is obviously a personal opinion, however I've spent a good portion of my career traveling as a Journeyman in the construction trades, thus I do have plenty of experience in more cities than I can remember. Back Bay Park, although small is no exception. Right on Lake Michigan, the scenic views and fresh air...
