The customer service of the front desk man was non-existent, bordering on intentionally offensive. When I arrived with my sister, my three other siblings were already seated at a lane and they had already put our names on the screen for bowling. But when I went to pay for my sister's and I shoe rental he felt it necessary to tell me "they said there will be five players but only three people have paid" in a tone that suggested I was trying to get one over on him even though I was literally at the counter trying to pay for the remaining two guests???? Then as I waited for him to get my shoes another party of several people came in and remarked that they would like to rent two lanes. He told them in a snide tone that if they wanted two lanes then they'd have to wait at least an hour. The info was fine, but I felt the tone was completely unnecessary. I just thought to myself, okay this guy is just plain unfriendly, but I shook it off and joined my party.
The real reason for the bad review is what he said to my sister. She asked the front desk attendant for one of those things you can slide the ball down. She needed the extra help because she has a handicap that doesn't allow her to lift her arm above the mid-chest area. After explaining this to the attendant he replied, "that's not something to lie about." She was really confused and spent a moment or two trying to explain that she is in fact not lying, but he wouldn't budge. When she came back to explain to us that he refused to help her we were all floored and it put a pall over the rest of our time there. We made the most of it but we left before or game was even over.
Giving two stars because the price isn't bad and the bartender was friendly and...
Read moreBeen here multiple times. Came on 3/8/23. Had my group's IDs checked at the door. Came with my two friends. My friends has to go back to the car, so we ordered our drinks while they were gone at the bar. I ordered two rail mixers and a mini-pitcher for the group. They did not ask me for my ID. Later on, my friends returned and tried to order drinks, the bartender grilled her, asked her who the drinks were for and who was paying, then asked for her ID--which had been checked to get in. She informed her of this. The bartender wanted to check anyway "Bc ppl are bowling" my friend informed her that she was not bowling and just wanted a drink. The bartender refused to serve her. A few moments later another employee approached our table saying that because it was after 9 and bowling was over they were checking IDs. We informed her that our IDs had already been checked, at this point it was 10:30 so well after 9pm anyway. We called BS and she said another employee claimed to have seen my friend coming from bowling. WE DID NOT BOWL, and no one in my group even walked to that side of the building. The employee then said that the doorman was unreliable and known to leave the door unattended which is why they check again inside (??? Hire a new door man idk?). My friend then spoke with the manager who repeatedly cut my friend off and spoke over her when trying to voice her concerns and how she felt harassed. To check someone's ID multiple times a night at a basement bowling alley is ludicrous. We were the only table approached and we just happened to be of color (:/) I have truly never felt so offended in an establishment in my life. I would...
Read moreIf I could give this place less than one star I absolutely would. I never write negative reviews but felt like I had to with this one. I could forgive the obviously watered down drinks and the weird, convoluted system for lane reservations that led to me and some of my group not being able to be added to a series of games in the middle. Look, I get they are trying their best to operate under COVID restrictions, and trying to juggle reservations while half the lanes are closed is certainly challenging. However, the absolute rudeness of the staff (really the front desk staff in particular) was utterly unacceptable. Any time anyone tried to ask for something that wasn't allowed, their reaction was immediate anger and rudeness versus trying to simply explain the rule. I am not an expert on Landmark Lane's booking policies, so when I come up and ask to be added to a lane mid-game, its not because I am trying to stretch the rules, just that I didn't know it was not allowed. Any service industry professional should be able to explain a policy to a customer without immediately reverting to an angry, borderline insulting demeaner. I worked in bars for years and have since been to hundreds of various hospitality establishments, and can say almost without a doubt that the staff experience here was the single worst I have had. I will never be back here (including future corporate events), and will be letting anyone I know who is thinking about having an event here to think twice. Hope you can address these issues, because front desk attitude aside this is a cool spot I...
