Burke Candy — Attraction in Milwaukee

We were planning a Rehearsal Dinner in Milwaukee from out-of-town, and I was trying to put together take-away gift bags for attendees. I’d already decided on small bottles of Moet Champagne (with the couple’s picture on the label) but wanted something sweet to go along with it. It was my lucky day when I stumbled onto Burke’s website. I ended up buying small (beautiful) gold colored samplers with the most delicious chocolates I’ve ever had — and it was the perfect complement to the champagne. In addition, the customer service was incredible, and we had such a great time going in to pick up our 40 boxes from their downtown storefront and chocolate factory. If I could rate them more than 5 stars for both their unbelievable chocolates (definitely try the mints, the caramels, and those big round ones with the chocolate/caramel/and pecans!) and wonderful...

We were sightseeing in Milwaukee and had a craving for chocolate. So we found our way to the Burke Candy & Ingredient store and what a lovely surprise it was. The whole store smelled of freshly-made toffee! When I asked for recommendations, the young woman behind the counter, Julia Burke, offered generous samples of chocolate-covered toffee bites and milk chocolate salted caramels. Both were delicious, and of course we bought some to take home. While she boxed everything up, she talked about the history of her family’s chocolate company and pointed through the window to the actual candy-making process. She was really a goodwill ambassador for Burke Candy. Finally she wrapped everything up in tissue and a flowered bag, and we left wishing we lived closer to this lovely shop! Patty...

I learned about this wonderful candy shop when my cataract surgeon sent a lovely gift bag to me recently. It was filled with milk chocolate covered toffee, and it was the best I’ve ever tasted! The minute I stepped into the store, I was met with the most wonderful aroma of high quality chocolate. I met the store owner, Julia, who was so generous with providing me samples of the many different chocolates available for sale. She helped me to put together an awesome assortment of dark chocolates for my sister’s birthday present, and then wrapped it so beautifully for me.
