Really upset with service provided by Allen the manager at this location. Purchased a living room chair on the 26th of May. Said I couldnt take it with me that day and asked how long they would hold it in the store for me. Multiple cashiers said as long as I needed. So I said well I dont want to wait that long but being a holiday weekend coming up I can get it by the next weekend for sure. They said no problem.
Wrote the date on the ticket put sold on the chair though I was worried about the system used, being that the chair originally had a ticket priced at $50 on it only to find out it was actually for a tv stand, not a chair. This took staff a good 15min to locate the actual process of the chair and charge me the accurate amount. As I watched them use small 1in round stickers to write SOLD in sharpie I wasnt thrilled by how easily it could come off a cloth item and suggested they do their best to make sure another customer doesnt scam them like the last one and sell my chair by accident. They said they'd put enough on it to keep it there. Four to be precise.
Fast forward to May 30th Allen is calling and complaining to me about not having picked up my chair and how the policy is to keep it only til the end of the next business day. I called back the soonest I could, the next day. Spoke to a staff member and explained how the cashiers shouldve been more clear on the timeline and that I had already made arrangements to pick it up the coming Sunday so I couldnt get it sooner but that staff should be better trained in this matter. She said ok as long as I was getting it by Sunday.
So today, Sunday I show up and guess WHAT?? The item was RESOLD. By accident. The manager was incredibly rude about the matter. My friend who was with me brought that up to me before I even said anything. He made it clear he felt it was MY problem because I let it sit so long and he couldnt do much about it but refund me the $10. I said $50 for the hassle and fault of his and his staff would be more accurate. Was told to call customer service.
This was after spending 5hrs finding a guy to help me move it after the first one fell through, on a day where as a teacher, I had hrs to spend to grade student work and enter grades in before the end of the school year. I think a simple take a PHOTO of purchased items could save this place and future customers A LOT of trouble. Or better yet, simply properly TRAIN employees to begin with. Super sad and disheartened about trusting Goodwill again.
Here I thought I had a beautiful new addition to my living space, which fit my color scheme, other furniture and room size. Turns out just a stressed out emotional day with less work accomplished for my already tough job. Thanks Allen....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible: Recent shopping experience was awful. I am not sure if it is the segregation issues in Milwaukee or just an overall ignorance in the community. Yet, I live near the area and been shopping at this location for quite sometime. However, I was profiled and followed around the store, by two associates that were dressed in plain clothing. (African American-Just like me). Yes, It happens. They followed me around, every where I went; they went. To make matters worse, they didn't even blend in. Each time I come in, there are constant comments "Oh, back again, or Not working today, ect." It's incredibly intrusive. Each individual may have their own unique shopping experience, However, It was so uncomfortable. Not to mention, I was dressed incredibly well. (Kate Spade Bag and all). No customer should ever be subjected to personal questions or asked what they are doing there, by staff persons. There is a difference between intrigue and pryful. Profiling, isn't just, "Racial," let's be clear. In closing, I would not recommend this location if you want a simple shopping experience; without...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood sized, fairly standard Goodwill.
This isnāt one of those Goodwills that consistently delivers unbelievable finds, but it has a nice array of skirts, shirts, menās button ups, womenās pants, jackets, silverware, dish-ware, and electronics. The parking lot is a pretty big and it usually looks like parking is readily available.
The good experiences: I bought my favorite spoon and fork from this goodwill, as well as several nice quartz clocks. I bought almost my entire prom outfit from goodwill, and it was genuinely really nice(deep red dress, tan strapped heels, black train strap purse, all for about $12).
The negative/meh experiences: I bought a puzzle once that was missing a few pieces. The book selections tend to be pretty outdated and underwhelming(lots of 80s&90s diet or...
