I’m a Student at one of the universities schools that this gym feeds from, so this may sound like more personal problems. But I enrolled for a 5:30 MMA course I arrived late because the school doesn’t provide transportation to the place despite being a course you can take. After I arrive at 5:45 I am informed that the MMA course that I signed up for does not exist despite having MMA on my schedule and instead they have a 5:00 BJJ course or a 6:00 kickboxing course. I took the kickboxing course as I was late, and was given rental gloves because my MMA gloves were not designed for kickboxing and were told I have to pay for new gloves. Afterwards instruction began, despite the fact there were only 3 other university members other than my self, the instructions were confusing and vague despite me having 10 years in experience in martial arts (these classes were designed for beginners). The locker rooms have little security as there are few actual lockers that could be used, so I felt uncomfortable as a new person in this place. Overall I felt scammed, the school neither Pura Vida informed me that MMA was not a real thing, I felt the instruction was sloppy and was hardly a workout, and it took me an hour by bus to go too and from this...
Read more"Our family absolutely loves Pura Vida! As a parent, finding an activity that truly benefits both myself and my children has been amazing, and this gym delivers on all fronts. The coaches here are phenomenal. They manage to keep every class fun and engaging, while also pushing us to develop real grit and discipline. The instruction for both MMA and Jiu-Jitsu is challenging yet accessible, making it perfect for all experience levels. What truly sets this gym apart is the encouraging, welcoming atmosphere and the strong family-like environment. Everyone supports each other, from the coaches to the students. I've seen such a boost in my own confidence since starting, and it's been incredible to watch my kids develop their own sense of self-assurance and focus. If you're looking for a gym that builds skills, confidence, and a strong community, look no further...
Read moreFrom: Omaha Strangler (Facebook Account), From the moment I stepped into this gym, I knew that I was coming into a real mma gym, with real fighters. When I stepped on the mats I also noticed something that was rare to any other gym Ive been to for no gi bjj training - they made everyone do a minute excercise station between each roll. This made me focus on my technique more than using strength, which is a ptoblem I fall into sometimes. This also means that this is a good gym to train for competition readiness. Ive been training bjj for five years and this is the first time ive seen this implemented. I love it. My training partners were knowledgeable and also ego free which is rare to find in gyms nowadays. Please give them a try if you haven't already. They are also very...
