Deseret Industries Thrift Store & Donation Center — Attraction in Milwaukie

I had a great laugh today while visiting the D.I.'s showcase. Two things I need to mention....

1. It's one of my favorite thriftstores, I promise. But!..
2. Repeat after me, D.I. "ANYONE CAN CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WISH ON EBAY OR ONLINE. IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT'S WHAT THE ITEM WILL SELL FOR, OR WHAT THE ACTUAL VALUE IS!" *Seriously, don't let greed consume this store 🙏🙏🙏 The prices are still good for now as far as most things go. I have attached some photos as to what my issues are referring to. Like the pokemon! They are NOT vintage (2015) and should not have been 60$ 😓 IMO. And don't even get me started with beanie babies! 🤣 Ya'll stop! 😂 Look up eBay and beanie babies, look at the sold prices, not the listed prices. Do people still even do money laundering using beanie babies anymore?

Buyer beware, used to be my favourite thrift store, now they raised prices, things that were .50 cents are now $1.50 and not even worth the .50 cents, used dolls and stuffies are $6 to $7 each 🤦‍♀️. Nothing for even a dollar, lowest priced item I could find was $1.50 on donations. Tried calling, no one ever answers the phone, was going to donate a huge pile of stuff, but with the inflated prices on donations, will find a better place to give and shop. Raising prices 300% is a very bad business decision, place will now be a museum, where discarded items just pile up on the shelves, never selling. Plastic cups from dollar tree, shouldn't be $1.50 each at a thrift store, but they are here.Thrift stores are supposed to be that thrifty, not more than you could buy new. Very disappointed in...

I love shopping at this thrift store. It is located around many others of the like but I personally feel that this one is my favorite by far. There donations are always clean and we'll presented. The store is easy to find what you need in. The help is always friendly and knowledgeable and ready to help and answer questions if needed. The prices can't be beat, compared to all the other thrift stores and the thing I like most is they help the community. They hire people that need some help and further them on there career path. They do many other things for the community also. A very special place here in Happy Valley. I would...
