Survey Report: Evaluating Walmart’s Commitment to Its Core Values
Walmart has long built its brand around a promise of “Everyday Low Prices” and exceptional customer service. With more than 10,000 stores worldwide, Walmart aims to combine affordability, convenience, and a wide selection of goods for millions of customers. This survey-based report evaluates how well Walmart stays true to its core principles based on customer experiences, employee insights, and market analysis.
Customer Service: Walmart receives mixed reviews when it comes to customer service. Many customers appreciate the convenience of self-checkout, fast lanes, and the availability of mobile apps for easier shopping. Curbside pickup and delivery services have also improved significantly in recent years, especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, others report long wait times, limited staff on the floor, and difficulty finding help. Survey data indicates that about 65% of Walmart customers rate their customer service experience as satisfactory or better, while 20% express frustration over lack of assistance and poor employee engagement.
Prices and Affordability: Walmart’s strongest reputation lies in its competitive pricing. Across categories—groceries, household goods, clothing, and electronics—Walmart frequently offers lower prices than competitors such as Target, Kroger, and Amazon. A majority of surveyed shoppers (78%) say they visit Walmart primarily for its low prices, especially for staple items like food, cleaning supplies, and over-the-counter medicine. Walmart’s price-matching policy, although less advertised than in the past, still serves as a draw for value-conscious consumers.
Product Selection and Inventory: Another strength is Walmart’s vast product range. From fresh produce and clothing to furniture and pharmacy services, customers often view Walmart as a one-stop-shop. The majority of customers surveyed appreciate the variety, with 70% stating they can usually find what they need in-store. However, some report inconsistencies in stock, especially in smaller or rural locations.
Store Environment and Cleanliness: Opinions vary widely on Walmart’s in-store atmosphere. While some stores maintain a clean, organized environment, others are criticized for clutter, empty shelves, or lack of cleanliness. In a recent poll, 60% of customers rated their local Walmart’s cleanliness as acceptable or good, while 15% rated it poor. Improvements in layout, signage, and lighting have been noted in recently remodeled locations.
Employee Perspectives: Employee feedback paints a mixed picture. While Walmart offers stable employment and upward mobility opportunities, workers often cite low wages, understaffing, and high workload as ongoing concerns. Nevertheless, some employees commend Walmart’s training programs and internal promotion practices.
Conclusion: Overall, Walmart largely stays true to its identity of offering low prices and a wide selection of products. Its commitment to affordability is consistently met, while customer service and store quality vary by location. Continued investment in staff training, store maintenance, and technology may help Walmart fully realize its promise of excellent value and service. Despite some areas for improvement, Walmart remains a cornerstone of American retail thanks to its cost efficiency, convenience, and...
Read moreIf they think you look homeless or wear sweatpants and a hoodie they will assume your stealing and follow you around the entire time your there making your shopping experience very uncomfortable and unenjoyable. Beware if you're disabled and use a cart for your shopping due to taking public transportation and not being able to carry all the bags around don't expect them to allow you to have the cart in the store. Period. If you have a bike they will not let you bring it inside or even park in the foyer at the front of the store even though due to this bikes are stolen there on a daily basis. Security will watch them cut the lock and ride away then follow you around while you shop for groceries and spend your hard earned money in the store. And don't even think about trying to return anything without a hassle especially if it's over 20 bucks. I was turned down on a return of a tent that had a defective zipper even though I had a receipt less than a week old and it's Walmarts policy to return all Walmart brand items no questions asked. Another time I returned a 6 dollar item with a receipt which I paid cash for. Was given a gift card. When I asked the cashier for cash ( who had their till out and obviously counted down 15 minutes early and didn't want to count again) because that's the payment I used she told me she had already put it on the card. Pretty much sorry bout your luck. I have never in my 35 years been to a business that nearly every person working there makes it their job to make your life harder or shopping experience a one to remember in the worst way. Every person that works there could use a class on customer service and guest interaction. Remember it's the customers that make the money for walmart to write your paycheck. At the very least try to smile and pretend like you like your job and...
Read moreOn Thursday of November 7th, 2024, my cousin and I were shopping at this Walmart and after we got done shopping, we were heading out and the Walmart employee who was pushing the carts into the building decided to stop me for no reason and block where I was going to decide to tell me that I need to go infront of his cart and that I cannot walk behind him. Made no sense. I was confuse and I said “Huh? Why?” And his exact words, “Because I said so,” and I’m like “What in the hell is going on?” And so I ask him “Are you okay?” And he responds “No,” and then tells me that I need to listen to him and go in-front of his carts when why would I go in-front of your cart when you’re pushing the cart forward to the building? Make it make sense. At that point, he would not let me go the direction that I was headed towards and let me remind you, there was no spill, or anything on the floor that happened that prevented me to not be able to go that way. My cousin was confuse on why he was doing this and maybe he was just on a power trip. He made my cousin and I both very feel uncomfortable. This altercation went about for a good six minutes I believe. He decided to stopped pushing the carts and start a fight with me when I was just there to shop for some items. I tried to look for a name badge but it looks like he hides it. The way he was so comfortable on telling me what to do out of nowhere for no reason makes me think that he has done this to other customers. Maybe he’s discriminating me? Either way, Walmart, get a grip on your employees and have them actually do their job instead of picking on customers because they feel the need to be in control. My cousin goes to that Walmart and she was able to get a picture of him, again, look at his neon vest, no name badge. He’s the one wearing a...
