Another beautiful waterfront park on the Willamette. This one seems pretty busy with water activities as people come here to kayak, to do standup paddling, to enjoy a boat tour on the river. The park is along the Trolley Trail and has a public restroom so that's pretty nice for runners and cyclists passing through. I always enjoy a little stop here during a run or ride between Portland and Oregon City.

We were visiting the area and went here to enjoy the Christmas Ships. The parking lot was tiny and cars were double parked in single spaces. The view was beautiful and even though we expected more boats, the 10 or so that were there came by the bank a couple of times, yelled Merry Christmas and waved. It was a fun 20 minute adventure.

Really peaceful place. Little park with few picnic table in the upper area. Willamette river at a lower area. There is a boat launch area with a dock and a stairway further by the trail. Fishing from Bank is OK if using top water gear. Drop shot, Carolina or Texas rigs - forget about it, you'll get snagged a lot in the rocks

Nice little park, except for three things. First, the boat ramp and "beach" area is about 50 yards downstream from a wastewater treatment plant, and I see people swimming here all the time. Secondly, parking sucks. There's 2 lots, a lower lot right next to the boat ramp, and an upper lot. In total theres about 5 parking spaces for regular cars, 3 or 4 handicapped spaces, and about 20 spaces only for parking with a trailer. Half of the spots in the upper lot for regular cars are actually employee parking for the waste water treatment plant and thus are always taken during normal business hours. Every time I go here, all the regular spots are full and there's 16-17 boat trailer spots open. Lastly, milwaukie parking enforcement patrols multiple times a day, so expect a parking ticket if you try to get away with parking in a trailer spot. They are so strict on protecting those boat trailer spots so that they can sit empty all day not being used by anything. I work in the area and like to find somewhere nearby to spend my lunch, so I am at this park 2-3 times a week and often end up going somewhere else due to lack of parking for non-trailer towing vehicles.

They really need to make the trailer spots in the upper lot into regular...

  • Update * Do not park in the boat launch spaces even if there is not one single boat in the marina. I stopped in for a nice walk, and their limited parking was full with construction vehicles and a few other visitors it seems. Anyhow, I was given a parking ticket for parking in a boat spot, that was far from the launch and there was not one other boat in the Marina. Anyhow.. In regards to a nice park, keep this in consideration. I know its not their fault I got a ticket, but due to the forever construction that is happening down there and limited parking you may want to consider another location to stop and have a break or lunch. They aggressively ticket vehicles in this area, so beware that a visit may cost you $90. ** Not visitor friendly. Just a suggestion.

A real nice park to walk around and just visit. Not a ton of parking as most of it is for the Boat Launch.

The ramp seems pretty easy to launch in and out of. It seems a bit steep but not bad.

I have not seen a lot of traffic here but I haven't been here on a weekend.

To visit the park you may need to park downtown if the lit is full. Great place to just stop and see if you are wanting to get out of the office or...

Been using the boat launch here 2 times a week for the past 4 months to go do water sports. Peoples manners at the launch are disgraceful. There is a problem almost every time we go.

Alot of the people here have never launched a boat in their life and will take 15-30 mins to launch/retrieve their boat. I would also say that 35% or more of the boats launched have expired registration (Saw a boat that expired in 02 getting launched once!). People who solo launch or have an inexperienced helper will not walk the boat to the end of the dock to let the next person launch/retrieve their boat. Sometimes there is people even people swimming in line of the boat ramp that don't move! There is limited parking and some people park in the "trailer only" parking spots.

Honestly, the place is well maintained and the Willamette river is great to go do water sports on (That's all the 3 stars are worth), but the people are...
