Unbeatable prices, HUGE selection and really nice staff. Ask for Heather Piper, she so knowledgeable and friendly. So that was the nice and short version. Read on if you want the the whole story. I live in Downtown Minneapolis near the Metro Blue Line. I got so sick of paying ridiculous prices at Target and Haskells. Then on several occasions I saw heavy duty Haskells green plastic bags and Target's white and red bags littering of my beautiful city. Looking at plastic bags on the Mississippi just killed me. Decided to go the Aldi's route and discovered Hi lake liquors. Took me 10 minutes from downtown on the Blue Line. Guess what? you have to bring your own bag at Aldi's and Hi Lake liquors gives you a brown a paper bag. Bravo!! Yeah Lake and Hiawatha is a shady neighborhood and you probably will get panhandle but then again same thing would happen on 9th and Nicollet in downtown too. Feels good to buy a pound of hamburger meat for less than $3 at Aldi's and six pack for fairly decent beer for $5. If you drive a fancy car please stick with Total Wine, but if are from Minneapolis proper and a poor veteran like me go to Hi Lake liquors. Look and ask Heather Piper she is a kind human being.

I just stopped by to quickly grab a hot & ready pizza from Little Ceasers. What happened to $5 pizzas it was $9 and change for a ready now cheese pizza. The picture you see the gates is the senior building my mother used to live at a couple of years ago, on Lake St & Hiawatha. Bad/unsafe location. Gates were put up a year ago to keep unwanted guests out of the area due to violence and drug use

This is basically a strip mall in the hood. Seriously! The Hood. There is a Burlington store there. Along with others. But I've only been to Burlington and Sumo buffet and habatchi. This is a busy place. A lot of movement going on. Usually there are police someplace right in the parking lot or in the near area.

Poor theft prevention policies that left me vulnerable to the store's criminals. My backpack 🎒 and all of the important things that I had in it was just taken from behind the counter while I was shopping. The cashier at the time told me that he knew it was just taken and then pointed out someone in the parking lot as if I knew who it was. A security guard and a manager of the store pursued the suspect that lost them on the light rail. I lost everything. Wallet, ID, 3 rolls of quarters for laundry, change from the train fare $8 in $ coins, a harmonica, keys to my apartment, 3 battery chargers, 5 or 6 cords and plug in bases, blue tooth speaker and headphones.... So much it makes me feel sick. Still have no idea who took it. The manager has been unhelpful to do a thing about it. Stay away from...

The food was okay. The waitress or server was very rude ,we are an African American family they keep coming to the table passing by watching us. Then she came before we left brought fortune cookies and replyed have a good night , we were not finished eating and she raised the little silver tray thing looking for a tip .My grandkids said how disrespectful . People that were there before us were still there. I will never take my family there again nor recommend anyone of color to go there . After spending sixty seven dollars. To top it off she stood at our table until we left and I'm handicapped after having surgery she would not move my daughter had to stand in front of her . I will never go there again ever the service sucks!!! Unless your a different ethnicity. WHAT...
