Physically, this is a beautiful dog park. Plenty of space to run around with an incredible view of the lake. I give it a 2 stars only due to owners allowing their aggressively behaving pups to come here. We’ve brought our older dog here (and to other dog parks) a multitude of times, so we are very familiar with how dog parks should work. We arrived here today and it was a battle of the dogs! Unlike anything I’ve ever seen before - so many violently aggressive dogs. If you know your dog hurts other dogs, please don’t bring them here until they’re ready. We’re all dog people, I get the importance of adopting aggressive rescue dogs - but it’s not fair of you to bring them here until they’re ready. If you’re not sure how to gauge that, work with professionals. There were too many innocent pups who were hurt today. We have a golden retriever pup who was completely torn into within just a few minutes here. The other owners say their large dog was playing, fell on our dog, when our pup was crying their dog took it as prey and a reason to attack him? Ok - get dogs like that out of a community space until they’re ready to play without hurting others. 100% owner’s responsibility to control their pups so that no one is hurt, and with that being said I can’t recommend bringing your dogs here until the aggression...
Read moreMy dog was attacked by a woman’s dog today. They were chasing balls together when it happened. My dog loves chasing balls and is also very friendly when playing balls with others. But seems like the other dog had serious serious resource guarding problems and aggressively bite my dog when they got close to the same ball. The most egregious part was the owner quickly took the dog and left the park without talking to me about how this happened or no single word to check in. Later I identified teeth punctured wound on my dog’s neck and injured areas inside the ear. I had to take him to the ER on Sunday night. That dog was seriously biting and attacking. I didn’t get the chance to get the dog’s information but it was a medium to large size (50-60 lbs) with black & white patterns, short hair.
I just want to post it here and hope that owner can see the words I want to say to her: dogs playing in a dog park should not have serious resource guarding problems, otherwise you are just ruining the place. Please take time to train and address your dog’s...
Read moreWhile it's not the largest dog park in the world, it's a good size with plenty of area for the dogs to run either in the shade or out in the open. There's a large overhead spot light for when it gets dark late, and whomever is in charge is fairly good about updating the mulch on the ground and filling in the many deep holes the pups dig. Warning: it does get VERY muddy as the seasons change. All the pup parents are on top of their dogs - whether they slightly misbehave or use the "facilities." I've been here multiple times a week since I moved to the neighborhood about 8 months ago and I've only witnessed 1 incident and it was an honest accident - which happens. Overall, it attracts good dogs, it's well maintained, and I truly recommend bringing your...
