Walker Library - Hennepin County Library — Attraction in Minneapolis

Photo's make it seem larger but it's actually quite small or Average; similar to the other building on the Hennepin Block. 1st Floor is for General Public and the 2nd floor is for Staff Only. Restroom & water fountain available. Parking is Underground BEHIND the Building Alley; Free 15 minute Parking then you'll be charged a small-fee .02 cent per minute afterwards so for example 4 Hour Parking is $5.00 fee

p.s. There's A LOT of TRAFFIC HERE. Please drive Safely and slowly there's a lot of LIGHTSTOPS=OUTDATED you will struggle with making Left Turns (it's alright to turn on a "Red Light" if you have to) People & Drivers will understand. Just be AWARE of Your Surroundings this street is very Narrow...

Nice and centrally located. A little too small for my taste. Wish there was a larger selection of books at this location. Also seems odd that it’s closed on Sunday (limited hours on Sunday v. being closed all day would be nice). More of a societal issue and not a library issue, but there was a fair amount of homeless sleeping in the limited chairs at the corner of Lagoon and Hennepin in the library. While not a turn off for me, I could see this be a turn off for some people. Main gripes are selection of books and only being opened on 1...

I lived on this very block the library is on in the 1980's, and it has gone through a lot of changes over time. Yet the character of this place still lives.
