A habit of bad experiences here. This is the 3rd time I've come here across the timeline of about 2-3 years. All 3 times were not by choice, but were to join in celebration of birthdays. I've never had a good experience here. Last night 8/3/2018 we came with a party of about 30. The first hour was okay, as we ordered drinks and waited for the entire party to arrive. Drinks came in a timely manner, no issues. Everything after was just horrible. This restaurant does not serve real Thai food, if that is what you are looking for. The seasoning and the taste is not close to what actual Thai food is. Anyone who has had real Thai food will know. Dishes were overpriced. I can't believe it took 1 hour and a half minutes for our food to arrive. One order of chicken wings was about $10 and you get 4 pieces. We ordered 4 sizzling seafood entrees in total. The first one that came out was not even sizzling anymore. No one sound of sizzling. Must have been sitting in the back for a while. The waiter came back to see how the food was. We told him that we were missing 3 more sizzling seafood dishes. He went back to check and 10 minutes later, they came out. At least these 3 looked and sounded fresh. The back room was divided by 2 tables, about 15 people to each table. Each table got their own bill in one bill. So 1 total bill per table. We asked the waiter to split the bill to what each person ordered. He had a hard time with that. We were frustrated at this point and just asked him to split the bill evenly. Our table was roughly $477 in total split between 15 people. It came out to about $32 per person with added gratuity about $6. Some paid in cash and some paid in credit. I would not have tipped this waiter, but with a big group, it is common for automatic gratuity. I checked my bank account this morning and I have $238.26 that was charged to my credit card. Although it does look like it was credited back as well. A mistake on their end. It is currently pending and I will keep an eye on this. I will not be returning to this place again, even if it is for a loved ones birthday. Very...
Read moreI read the reviews, and I can’t believe I’m not in love with this restaurant. First of all, the lights are so dim even in August at 6:00 PM I couldn’t see the menu. Romantic? Maybe. I wasn’t on a date. We were seated promptly and the restaurant didn’t seem overly full. However, that’s when we were forgotten. We received waters and then silence. People around us and within eyesight outside on the darling patio… They got drinks, they got appetizers, they got their meals. All the while, I was trying to get the attention of anyone who worked there. They wouldn’t even look at us they were single focused. I did go to the hostess stand, and she got us a server. She was pleasant. We got our meals without drinks so the young man who delivered our food went in search of our server. As we were getting our drinks, those seated after us were already paying their bills. My meal, Pad Thai, was good. My daughter’s meal was not good. We set it at the edge of the table and waited and waited and then waited some more. I had to get up and ask for our server. She came, and got my daughter a new meal. She had promised us a water refill that never came. Again we waited… I again went up to the stand, and our waiter showed up. We got my daughter’s meal to go and got the bill. The first meal for my daughter was comped. We then started the waiting game yet again. Our bill was paid and a 15% gratuity was already included for our two person party.
I understand people are overworked, and I can’t expect perfection. However, there was no acknowledgment of the extreme wait time we had. No apology. Nothing but silence. Tables around us were on the second set of folks finishing their meals. It was surreal. Truly, our meals should’ve been reduced or at least an “I’m sorry” rendered. I still would have tipped because it certainly wasn’t all her fault. I’m just not sure what went wrong that we had such a poor experience. We won’t be...
Read moreWe loved it! Our party of three arrived at 5:15 PM on this frigid Friday night. It was our first time eating here, so this was a great find for us. We made reservations, which was wise - this restaurant fills up quickly. However, I neglected to reserve a booth...nevertheless, our waitress made a good effort and was able to re-locate us to a quiet booth, away from the bar. I spent an hour and a half on the internet compiling a list of recommended dishes; it was time well spent. The three of us would highly recommend the Pad See Ew, the Holy Basil Fried Rice, the Thai Beef Jerky appetizer (which was available at a discount price on Friday night for Happy Hour), and the Mango with Sticky Rice for dessert. The House Cabernet was a steal at $3 per generous glass during Happy Hour. Big and little kids would probably enjoy the Fried Ice Cream (of course). The appetizer of Curry Chicken wings in a coconut flavor sauce with a little zing were also delicious; just know that they are deep fried (they are not breaded). I prefer to eat baked or roasted chicken but it was still quite good, especially with that coconut sauce. The menu is big, so putting together a list of dishes that you think you want to try before you walk in the door is probably a good idea. The attention and service that we received was very prompt and excellent. The only (small) disappointment were the tiny shrimp in the Papaya Salad appetizer that tasted too fishy, or something, with those tiny baby shrimp. Otherwise, the Papaya Salad had a fresh, citrusy flavor. We ate most of the Papaya Salad, except for the tiny, baby shrimp. We will definitely plan on going back. The decor is interesting. It's a real...
