Washburn Library — Attraction in Minneapolis

I was at the library today and had brought my lunch in with me. There are no signs posted that say "no outside food/drink". I had also had my lunch there last Friday with no issues. An employee had come into the area I was in, and after a few minutes approached and let me know that food wasn't allowed due to "ants", and said I could eat in the lobby. While it was disappointing, I understood, put my lunch away and began working on the computer. A couple hours later, a bunch of kids from a nearby school came to hang out at the library. They were loud (they're kids, but it's a library), and they had food. But nothing was said to them about having to eat in the lobby. Also, the "lobby" has a single bench. No table or other chairs to eat at. It's basically just a walkway between the outside and the library. The library was otherwise well kept, computers had little to no issues, and bathrooms...

Lovely place and helpful staff. I come here occasionally to print documents for work since I don't have a printer at home (something like 10¢ per b&w copy as I'm writing this review) and I've always had someone there willing to troubleshoot any issues. I don't have a Hennepin county library card either and no one has ever tried to push the issue, but with the experience I've had, I'm definitely considering making this my home...

I have been going to the Washburn library for at least 15 years and I find all the personnel very friendly and helpful. This library is more comfortable to browse for material and I enjoy the magazine reading area as well. The childrens area is nicely separated from the adult area and the computer use area. Washburn is my material...
