The rating is solely due to the pricing, majority of the items are heavily marked up compared to ordering it on Amazon or online in general. In particular the books. The books are typically marked up at LEAST 40-60%. The same books in Patina are available online for half the cost (this is not an exaggeration). Other than pricing, Patina is an amazing store to get ideas on gifts for others as well as items you may need. They have a lot of gag gifts, unique items catered to MN, hiking accessories, home accessories, cooking utensils, and health/self care items. I always come to Patinas to look around as there’s so many wonderful items. I also ensure to google any item before buying to ensure I’m not getting ripped off. I don’t mind paying 10-20% due to the convenience but paying 50-60% more when I can order it on Amazon and have it delivered the next day...

My husband and I stopped in here after stopping at the Malt Shop, which was unfortunately closed. I've been in a Patina before and have seen unique, nice gifts for the home, etc. Today, what struck me was the section that had a "poem/saying" that had 2 swear words in it on a pillow and I think a sign. There were also mugs with swear words on them. I thought this was considered a family store and really didn't expect to see something like that here. I like the blankets, stuffed animals & unique gifts but I will think twice about going into another Patina. I guess it's supposed to be cool or a gag gift of some sort. I guess...

VERY well staffed & stocked local unique gift shop. Books, clothing, jewelry, candles, home decor, cards, and much MORE. Picked up some tree ornaments for extra holiday gifts...so cute & fun. Corner shop great neighborhood location. Ample street parking. Bonus of several good restaurants on the block too!
