I cannot say enough about the team at this GameStop. I came in to trade in a PS4 and the store had a ton of foot traffic. With a lot of kids out of school at the time, the store staff was a bit distracted due to suspicious behavior from a few of the customers. I could tell the team was feeling a little under pressure. Sean, one of the managers, was helping me out with my trade-in. I could tell that Sean was under some stress that day. I told him to take his time and that I was not in a rush. Sean was thankful and did his absolute best in all the chaos. He clearly explained to me my options, was empathetic and demonstrated what customer service truly means. I traded my PS4 in for a Switch OLED. When I took the OLED home, there was an issue with the JoyCon. I went back to the store and caught Sean as he was leaving. He was off the clock, but he put his bag down, apologized for the inconvenience, and promised to have this resolved. Knowing how that day went and having worked retail in the past, I empathized. I told him I can come back the next day and he asked me to call him before I came to not waste my time/gas. The next day I called him and he immediately picked up the phone, said that he had a solution, and to come by the store. I went to the store and in less than 5 minutes he had my problem fixed. I was looking for a few games and he saw that they were available at the other store in Aliso. He called the store for me and placed the items on hold and saved me a few bucks in the process. I cannot thank Sean and the other employee at the time (sorry I forgot your name) for the level of customer service that was provided. He helped me in my decision making process, handled the transaction smoothly providing me with options to help me out. His patience with me and other customers who had questions was handled with professionalism and patience. To whoever the owner/manager is, Sean deserves a raise and recognition. With all that is going on today, it is an absolute breath of fresh air to have experienced such a positive experience in a retail store. We call again to ensure it was on hold. He was driving from Costa mesa to pick it, was stuck in traffic for over an hour. When he get there, he sees her selling it to someone else. When he asked for it, she stated she just sold it. He then asked, why would they if it was on hold. She stated that it wasn't a true reservation. I always liked gamestop, and always had a good experience, until now. Needless to say, I will no longer be a gamestop customer, thanks to the temp, Cody at this location.
