4.20.25: We made the 3ish hour drive from Idaho to attend Missoula's 6th Annual 420 Block Party put on by Montana State Hemp & Cannabis Festival. It was a FREE all day, all ages, event with food trucks galore offering a variety of dishes and cuisines, a ton of vendor booths selling arts, crafts, homemade goods, unique gifts, and gourmet candies/snacks, etc., and best of all LIVE MUSIC performed by 3 different bands and a live DJ set. The vibe was awesome and it was good to see so many smiling faces gathering in one place. Also, it was nice not to see a majority of overly intoxicated people stumbling around but instead seeing positive people bringing nothing but good vibes, great dancing, and in high spirits celebrating 420. Weather wasn't too kind that day but you can't really be mad at mother nature lol. I would definitely come back to Caras Park to attend this annual event. Big thank you to all who helped make this block...

It's a great place to people-watch write a bite take a walk watch people kayak you can walk down to the river, but it's very easy to access this park if you are disabled or elderly. All ages can enjoy this part and feel like you're really out there. It's a little bit of nature right in the middle of the city.
This park always features great events, food beer garden, live music an art. Plus on Saturdays there's a market with lots of locals selling their goods.๐
Recently I went to an art show down there which was amazing. It was so inspiring made me want to go home and start painting.๐ If you haven't been down to caras Park check out the local calendar to see what events are coming up.But don't stay away just because there are no events, because like I said there's so much awesome people watching and hanging out to do whether you're at the carousel or the kids playground or just taking a walk. it's...
ย ย ย Read moreCaras is a hub for activity in Missoula. It's recently been renovated and, in my opinion, is a great place to visit, before and after the facelift.
There are often events occurring there, like Out to Lunch on Wednesdays with performances & food trucks, and the Farmer's Market on Saturdays, all throughout the warmer months.
Beyond events, there are plenty of open picnic tables, stone and wood benches, soft grassy seats, and shady structure to use, as well as, public bathrooms (often quite dirty, in my years of experience), access to the walking trail, quick access to downtown's amenities, including, most closely, the Carousel and Dragon's Hollow play equipment for families with children.
During busy times, there's people watching, and year-round fantastic views right on the river's edge. When it's warmer, from the boardwalk, the surfers and floaters alike can be seen going over...
