My wife and I have been visiting galleries together for over 50 years. We have found that really great galleries in San Francisco, Sausalito, Seattle, Carmel, Santa Fe, Denver, New York, and London to name a few. All have something in common, which is, a personality. Each stands as a unique space that expresses a certain form of individualism, narrative, style, or art movement. This may be easier to do in a place like New York, or London since the artists available are powerful and mostly established. It is not so easy in Missoula Montana. So it is with great joy we have seen the emergence of a very intelligent, talented, insightful and motivated young couple, Lisa Simon and Jason Neal and their creation of Radius Gallery.
Radius has become one of those special and rare galleries that manages to put art together in such a way to create a unified whole, a style, a look, a feeling. Creating space that honors each and every piece… holding the art lover in place and then drawing her gently on to the next experience. That is only one of the things Radius does so amazingly well.
Having lived in the art world for so many years, we have become close to many collectors of art. We have enjoyed encouraging art collectors to come to Missoula. One friend in particular who travels most of Europe and most of the US.. searching and buying great art, has found Missoula to be a treasure chest of wonderful art. He loves to visit, loves to buy and is especially in awe of the Radius Gallery.
It is my hope that this wonderful little gallery will thrive in Missoula for many years. Thankfully we are fortunate here to have a very progressive and well supported contemporary art museum. However, do not confuse their role in our community with that of the local art galleries. We need galleries for artists to thrive, to make a living and to continue to make all our lives richer. Please support...
Read moreI try to buy art when I travel and popped into Radius Gallery while visiting Missoula to see what they had to offer. This is a beautiful and accessible contemporary art gallery--a welcome break from the "Wild West/Cowboy & Indian art I saw all over Montana. The owners, Lisa & Jason, are very friendly, knowledgable and approachable. Their passion for the art (and artists) in their gallery is obvious and shared willingly. There were many things I loved, ranging in price from $50-$5000 but I landed on a small oil painting which I can't wait to hang in my home...
Read moreI recently purchased a gorgeous piece of porcelain artwork from Radius Gallery and the experience couldn’t have been better! They offer a plan to pay off your purchase over time…the customer service is amazing (warm & friendly)…and my piece had to be shipped. Seriously, I’ve never had a piece of art so carefully packed and secured in my life! You could have dropped the box off the Empire State Building and its precious cargo would have survived! This is a 5-star, top...
