This is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I will forever book at boutique hotels. The place is funky, modern yet has a Mad Men feel to it. The lighting and design of the room is supportive, aesthetically pleasing and informative. As an artist, I appreciated so many details including a landscape and storytelling display of A River Runs Through It above my headboard. No landlines, instead you text the front desk and get an immediately reply. I had a 9 day stay so they placed a mini fridge and microwave in my room, gave me a top floor balcony room with a view of the M - so thoughtful. The BEST Hotel coffee, have you ever had good hotel coffee? Black Coffee, a coffee shop is connected to the hotel and guests can show their key card to get coffee any time the coffee shop is open. The robes are stylish, I bring my own rob, but didn't even use it - (I want to buy one of their robes), and the bedding and bed were soft and supportive. The hotel had a renovation done so instead of bathtubs you have a massive shower area, and amenities like make-up remover. The downstairs area and lobby were actually places you wanted to sit and work, I would see other guests playing the available board games. Shout out to Ali and Dustin and Kate (I hope I have their names spelled correctly) their personality, inquiries about if my stay was comfortable, and great restaurant recommendations are above par. The entire moral and mood of the place was fantastic. I can't say enough...
Read moreThis is an amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Missoula. I cannot recommend it enough. I booked a stay here to come watch the films at the Big Sky Doc Film Fest as well as to visit some good friends who live in Missoula, and I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Missoula!
The location is unbeatable - you can walk to most restaurants and museums in downtown.
The rooms are amazing - large, spacious and clean.
The service is excellent - special shout-out to Savannah and Darren, who fielded many of my questions about walking distance to places, and hiking routes. It is also really cool that guests at The Wren have access to Peak Wellness (including the classes!). I went for a few classes at Peak Wellness, and they were pretty darn good.
Breakfast isn't included (all the better to explore the wonderful cafes in Missoula), but there is a cafe attached to the hotel that sells bagels, coffee and pastries. There is also drip coffee and tea bags available in the lobby from 5am, if one is an early riser.
Thank you to all the team at The Wren for your fantastic hospitality and service. I'll stay with you guys again on my next trip...
Read moreYou pay for ambience, not amenities. My experience here was good; helpful service, clean and functional room with thoughtful decorative accents, and convenient central downtown location.
But it's very basic.
Starting with food and drinks, there is no breakfast or snacks, and the free lobby coffee goes away at 9 AM. You can visit an adjoining coffee shop instead, but of course, that's extra money. There is no coffee maker in the room, nor a microwave or fridge (though I've seen some reviews saying you can get a fridge upon request). My room didn't have a closet or hangers, but there is a little cubby where you could fold and store some clothing and shoes. Naturally, no iron or ironing board is provided.
The bathroom was spacious, and you get a couple of bathrobes for drying off. It's all pretty cozy, but unfortunately, there was no hair dryer.
Overall, I got the sense that The Wren is run like a trendy millennial startup; focusing on branding and marketing while pinching pennies on other aspects of customer experience. Perhaps I'm just not the target demographic, but for over $200 a night, I expected...
