Great selection and variety. There's just the right amount of smug hipsterness, intermingled with resigned helpfulness(from the staff) to make me feel at home here. An eclectic decor underlines the pervasive sense of cool emanating from the walls, floors, even ceilings and heating vents. Decades of musical knowledge and wisdom have saturated the air, spiced it with an exotic aroma reminiscent of the silk road bazaars in the East. It's pungent odor lays heavy upon your brow as you peruse the vast collection of physical media(available at competitive prices!) Blissful and unaware of your slowly eroding sense of fashion, your musical taste, your impending existential crisis as age turns against you as a reminder of innocence lost instead of experience gained, you will find peace in these perusals. In these moments you will find zen. Simply because...
....it's a music store. The ideologues interest in intriguing instrumental ideas is instantly increased in an inspection inside it's aisle's. In an interest in ending this increasingly idiotic and imbecilic collection of idioms, I implore in earnest: Shop here for your Music and Media needs! Or don't. I'm just a silly review on your screen. I can't make you...
Read moreA hip, quirky shop full of unique, interesting, and often hilarious gifts. The store is roughly divided into four sections:
The first room is dedicated to cards, calendars, and notebooks of all kinds - beautiful artsy greetings sit right next to raunchy gags. Next are (mostly) novelty gifts and toys of all shapes and sizes; there are a lot of funny and strange things here that you're not going to find in very many places, but you might be content just to look around and not actually buy anything. Farther back you'll find a big collection of CDs, DVDs, and vinyl - some items are a bit pricey but others are steals, and there is a pretty complete collection you could easily spend an hour or more browsing. Finally, in another room (as well as scattered around the others) you can find a variety of more serious decorations, posters, clothing, and jewelry that are all pretty and many of which are handcrafted.
All in all, there are a lot of bizarre and fun things here that you're not going to find anywhere else - some of it is a bit gimmicky but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable to browse around. If you have some time and a little bit of spending money, definitely check...
Read moreWorth checking out if you're visiting Missoula. This place has been here since the early 80s. My wife and her friends used to go record shopping (by which I mean, tape shopping, and then CD shopping) there as kids. As record stores got killed by mp3s and streaming audio, I'm glad to see this place adapted and stayed in the game. More than anything else, it's really an ideal gift shop for your cool friends & family. They have tons of cards, unique sweets, water bottles, mugs, body care products including with CBD, massagers, art, puzzles, jewelry, candles, music, clothing, air plants, wooden boxes, and all kinds of other stuff. We live in Colorado now, but are in Missoula at least once a year and we often have to set a time limit with our kids when we go to this place - like "we're going to spend half an hour in there - that's IT." And then, inevitably, we're there for twice as long, usually because the adults found too many things they were interested in. Also, staff are all great. Keep...
